A Y O

I sat on the couch in Shelia's house and watched as the girls except Scarlet planned to cook something up for Shelia. It must be really hard for her to lose her only parent. Sharon then decided to go and check on her best friend while Phyllis and April prepared to go shopping with Don and Bryan for there was no food in her house.

Not quite long after they left, a shrill scream resonated through the house which I recognized immediately as Sharon's so I all ran towards the direction of the sound along with Jordan. I entered an open room to see Sharon on the floor, crying, and Logan frozen still on a spot with his hands trembling. They both looked terrified of something, I turned to look at what and regretted immediately.

It was Shelia's hanging body. I dragged Logan to my side and buried his head in my shoulder to keep him from staring at the sight. Jordan and Scarlet came in at that moment and were petrified until Scarlet made to move towards Shelia.

"Do not go near! Get Sharon out of here and call the police!" I yelled out to them and Jordan carried his girlfriend away while Scarlet reported our discovery to the police. Logan had a panic attack and I tried to calm him but nothing worked, he had been staring at her dead body for minutes since we got there so the image was practically stuck in his head. Nothing can erase that now.

The whole place was soon filled with sirens, police men and women, tapes and ambulances. Phyllis and the others were confused when they came back but nobody had the energy to explain to them. No, the truth was that nobody could bring themselves to say that Shelia actually committed suicide.

The rest of the week was spent with the police questioning us but we knew nothing of what they asked except Logan, who was the only person she opened up to before she died. Not even Sharon, her best friend, knew that her mom was sick until Logan told us that fateful morning. Rumours circulated round the school because of our constant calls to questioning and police investigations. None of us in the clique could imagine that she would actually do that and Sharon and Logan were having hard times believing it.

The police found a suicide note on the study table in Shelia's room and gave it to her aunt, who was contacted during investigations and the woman gave it to Logan to read because it was directed more to him than to any other person. Her body was cremated and the funeral service was held in a crematorium. Her ashes were placed next to her mother's and their pictures were used decorate the place. The sky rumbled and dark clouds rolled in as if reading the mood of the day.
