L O G A N

The room is stuffy. Why is it suddenly hot in here? Scarlet is in my room! I knew I should have cleaned it up this morning. She's looking around! Why is she looking around?!

'Forget that. You're in a house ALONE with your crush!'

I almost choked on spit. Where did that come from?!

'I've always been here, stupid. I am your alter ego aka devil you. You can't deny that you want to jump her now.'

'I can! I don't! I'm not like that! Why the hell am I listening to you?!'

'Ah come on Logan, it's just human nature. You are a hotblooded teenager.'

'Get. Out. Of. My. Head!'

'I can't. I am always here with my stupid rival, angel you.'

'Do you have horns and a tail?'

"You're staring at the wall like it stole your money."

Scarlet's voice interrupted the conversation with the voice in my head. Thank God for that. I chuckled nervously as she sat herself on the study table and removed her laptop from her bag pack. I retrieved my laptop from the table and went to sit on my bed. "So how should we go by it? Should we split the work into two or work individually and then combine?" I asked.

"The latter." Scarlet said and immediately started working on her laptop while I focused on mine. Everywhere was silent save for the constant clicking of the keys on the keyboard. It was nice though. After a moment of typing and researching, I looked away from the screen to give my eyes a rest. That was when I saw Scarlet rubbing her eyes tiredly. I observed that she did this frequently and that she was also squinting.

"Hey, I'll be right back." I informed as I got up. I got a bowl from the kitchen and went to the bathroom to fetch some hot water before going back to the room. Scarlet acknowledged my presence with a grunt as usual and glanced at the bowl of water in my hand curiously just for a moment before deciding that it was none of her business and faced her work. I dropped the bowl of water on the floor and rummaged about my closet for a handkerchief. I found a blue and brown one and dipped it inside the water, allowing it to soak for a bit before removing it and squeezing it free of water. Good! Now here comes the hard part. I stood up from where I knelt and tentatively walked towards her. She didn't seem to notice my progression towards her, which is good, and I finally reached where she sat.
