A Y O
Only family were allowed to visit Logan at the ICU. It was horrible seeing his bandaged body and the chest tube that was inserted to help his lungs. He had a nasal cannula on and his face was pale like a ghost, it was distasteful but there was hope that he would live.
I looked outside my window and saw white clouds looming over the night sky and burying the moon and stars. "It would rain soon." I predicted as I patted Pandora's head. She is growing at a scary fast rate and I am afraid I would have to give her up soon. "Goodnight, lioness." I yawned as she curled up on the floor and neglected her basket as atavistic instincts came to play. I switched off the lights and left my green night lamp on. I don't know why I feel like tomorrow would be troublesome but... I would weather through it.

"Ayo, make sure you don't crash while you drive!" I rolled my eyes as dad warned for the sixth time this morning. He still does not believe that I am in fact mentally stable to drive a car to and fro from school. I mean, he allowed me to drive my car back from Humawod...under strict supervision by my mum and he won't allow me to drive to school alone. Mum gave me a pitiful smile as she got into dad's car.
"Be safe Ayo, love you." She said as she got into the black car. I know she wanted to hold me and comfort me just now but...a lot of things have happened and Logan failed death triggered some buried things. I pet Pandora and left some meat and water for her before leaving in Ite, my green beauty.
No sooner than I left the house did the rain come down in torrents like I predicted last night. I switched on my wipers and drove down the street, looking at Scarlet's house as I passed by and wondering if the truant would use the opportunity to skip school.
As I got to the intersection between my street and the main road, a white blur suddenly ran into my car and I hit the brakes in swift motion. Ite screeched to a halt and I placed my head on the steering wheel in horror. I did not just hit somebody, right?
'No, it ran into your car.'
My subconscious told me but I shook my head to brush it off. I took my black umbrella from the back seat and walked out of the comfort of my car into the cold wind and rain to inspect what or who I had ran over. My eyes widened when I saw that it was a girl with long snowy white hair in a single braid and my breath became erratic and short. Shit! I actually hit a person and one I can't touch for that matter. Oh no, what do I do?
'Leave it to die.'
'What?! Leave me alone, I got rid of you since I was thirteen!'
'Apparently not, pretty boy.'
'What the-'
My conversation with inner me was cut short when the girl steered awake and sat up with lightening speed on the wet floor. My eyes widened in astonishment when the girl suddenly scooted over to my side to avoid the rain and I pulled away as quick as a bolt to avoid physical contact with her as much as possible.
"You can have the umbrella," I said as I shoved it into her hands and tried not to touch the skin. "Watch where you're going next time." I told her while raising my hood up to block the rain from wetting my hair and turned to get into my car's warm embrace but I was stopped by a harsh pull on my hoodie. I turned around as the umbrella came over my head to stop the rain and giving me a chance to look at the girl.
