"They?"
"The organ trade syndicate that monopolized the black market ten years ago."
Napaunat si Zenith sa kinauupuan pagkarinig sa sinabi ni Tor.
"Paano kang nakasiguro?" he asked.
"Mr. Gibson came here in the guise of a vacation with his family. But that wasn't the case. Nagpunta siya rito dahil kailangang-kailangan ng anak niya ng heart transplant. The man was desperate, he didn't want to lose his daughter so he did whatever means to get a heart for her. And by whatever means--going to the black market."
"So, what happened to Mr. Gibson?" tanong ni Omi.
"He's either dead... or," he paused.
"Or what?" Venom voiced out the question running through their heads.
"He became a merchandise himself."
They all looked at the picture in front of them. Tantiya ni Zenith ay nasa late forties to early fifties si Mr. Gibson. He also looked healthy for his age. The probability that his organs had been harvested to be sold in the black market is very likely to happen.
"What about his daughter? What happened to her?" Vengeance asked.
"She's alive and recuperating," sagot ni Tor.
"But what about Mr. Gibson? What's the deal, why take him?" nakakunot-noong tanong ni Ferocious.
"They were unable to raise the exact amount on time."
"Then, how did they pull it off?" Thorn asked with genuine interest. "Sa mga ganitong klaseng underground dealings, usually it's money down first. Sigurista ang mga 'yon."
"Exactly. But I hinted Mr. Gibson did something with the money to make it look like the exact amount they were supposed to pay the dealer," tugon ni Tor.
"He double crossed the dealer?" maang na tanong ni Scythe.
"Yes."
"He's good," dagdag na komento ni Scythe.
"If he was that good, where is he now?" ani Qaid.
"Good point, kid."
"When you messed up with this kind of people, expect the repercussions," saad ni Trace.
At tahimik niyang sinang-ayunan ang sinabi nito.
"What's the plan?" tanong niya kay Tor.
Tor pressed the button on the remote control he was holding. Lumabas sa monitor ang isa pang litrato ng lalaki na saglit nagpa-paralisa kay Zenith. Kilala niya ang lalaking 'yon. Ito ang dahilan kung bakit siya nakulong at nangyari sa kanya ang bangungot na iyon ten years ago.
