As soon as Eddie spoke his last words, Richie dropped the candle, sending reflective shards of glass everywhere.  "What the hell, Richie?" Eddie said, sounding exasperated and confused. "Fuck..." Richie muttered, getting on his knees to pick up the sharp shards. "Sorry, I think I'm just tired." He continued as an excuse for his shock. Richie felt Eddie staring at him as he scrambled to pick up the glass. "Are you sure?" Eddie said, with a slightly concerned inflection in his tone. Shit. Now he's suspicious. "Yeah. I mean, it's been a long day. We should probably go to sleep soon anyway." Richie said quickly and dismissively as he put the glass in the trash can. Before throwing it away, he looked at the blood in the paper towels from his nose bleed earlier. "Yeah, I guess." Eddie said in agreement. Richie looked back up at the boy after all of the glass was thrown away and sat next to him.

Eddie looked into Richie's dark eyes, not wanting to be done looking into them for an entire night. "I mean... There's something important I've been meaning to talk to you about." Eddie said quietly and apprehensively, breaking his own moment he was having to try to talk to Richie about something that needed to be said.. "Like what?" Richie said, whose behaviors were still suspiciously maladjusted. He watched as the boy's eyes shifted nervously across the room. Eddie furrowed his brows. "Like... you. Are you sure you're okay, Rich?" He said in a softer, non judgemental tone. Something was wrong with Richie. He could just sense it.

Eddie was worrying again. This wasn't good. Richie needed to find a cover for his nervousness, and quick. "Yeah... uh," He began, thinking of what to do next. He felt Eddie's warm, soft hands caress his own slowly, not in a romantic way, but in a comforting way. Fuck. Not now, Eddie. "I've just been trying to stop myself from doing this." Richie said, being honest, but mainly using his attraction to Eddie as a scapegoat so he didn't have to talk to Eddie anymore and let something slip. Richie gently pushed Eddie's hair back and kissed him softly. He felt Eddie pull away a bit, breaking the kiss. "Richie..." Eddie spoke, in a quiet tone. "I want to talk to you." He said. "Can we please just... talk in the morning? I'm sorry." Richie said, pulling back a little. He really didn't want to deal with this right now.

Eddie sighed. "Okay. Fine." He said, a bit frustrated, but mostly just exasperated. He was worried about Richie. Eddie got up and headed to the bathrooms to shower.
