Day Thirteen | Wednesday | March 23rd
"Does Patton seem upset to you?" Roman asked Logan. They were the only two up so far, Logan had to get to work early today and Roman wanted to get an early start on his deliveries
"Now that you mention it, his attitude has been slightly off since you and he returned from your battle with Deceit and The Duke." Logan said, "Did anything unusual occur at the museum?"
Roman thought about it for a moment, "Uh yeah. The Duke was talking to us. A lot more than normal too. He didn't even use his powers he was just talking."
"What did he say?" Logan asked
Roman shook his head, "A bunch of junk. He kept saying that Patton was weak and his powers couldn't do anything. It was total bull-"
"Careful, he might hear you," Logan said.
"Anyway, I didn't think it mattered because Patton dealt with it fine. He interrupted Deceit and said he was fine with his powers and that he was happy. Then he tried dropping a giant penguin on him and then they were gone." Roman said
Logan set down his mug of coffee, "hmm. Did he say anything afterward?"
"Said a few jokes... should we ask him about it?"
"Let's wait for now. Maybe it's just a coincidence. Besides, he hates it when we worry" Logan picked up his bag and the two made the way to the door.

"What did Deceit say that made you run away?" Patton asked. He was working on making another sample for the daycare. This time they were planning on making animal masks. Something about it being animal appreciation day at the daycare.
On the other end of the coffee table, Virgil was making a lion and Patton was making a mouse, "He said- he said a lot of things." Virgil began, "He- he told me that he should never have taken me in and that I was broken"
"Did he tell you you were weak?" Patton asked
Virgil nodded "Yeah, but compared to him and Remus I am, so he's right"
"I don't think you're weak. You made a giant monkey out of shadows. That's really cool"
"Patton, to be able to create that I needed to pay really close attention to everything. I nearly passed out from it. When Remus had dragged me over towards you guys the few shadows I could control were so slow and weak." Virgil said, "And using my powers like that, plus the anxiety attack and everything else that happened that night, it was a miracle I could even use my powers the next day."
Patton chewed on the inside of his lip as he glued on the whiskers to the mask, "If we're comparing ourselves to others than... am I weaker than Roman and Logan?"
Virgil shrugged, "No. Not necessarily. You can use your portals for longer than Roman can hold up a forcefield."
"Can't you use your shadows for longer than Remus can do that headache thing?"
Virgil nodded, "I can, but that's only because when Remus gives you guys those headaches it hurts him too. Not nearly as much but it still hurts him." Virgil began to trace out the mane, "Besides, Remus and Deceit have much more control over their powers than I do."
"Oh. Thanks."
Virgil nodded but looked up from the mask and watched Patton for a few seconds 'is he okay?'
*****
Roman and Logan had just gotten back to the apartment and were walking up the stairs when they were stopped by two boy's one was about eight, and the other was fourteen. "Roman!" The youngest boy ran up to him, tackling Roman to the ground.
