TW: Anxiety Attack, Talks about Death, grief
Day Thirty-Nine | Monday | April 17th
"Virgil?" Patton asked, his voice quiet as he continued, "Whose Tevi?"
Virgil shook his head in an effort to get the message across. He didn't want to talk about Tevi, and even if he did, he didn't think he could. It was so hard to breathe, every time he tried to take in air it felt like his lungs were getting smaller. As if his anxiety was a giant sixty-foot cobra, strangling him just so it could kill him and eat him.
"Virgil, you said she was dying. Whose Tevi? Where is she?" Roman asked. Virgil was slightly aware that Roman was still holding his hands down, and that Virgil was hurting Roman by digging his hands in and trying to use his powers. Patton was still there too, rubbing circles on his back to calm him. "Virgil, we can help her but we need you to tell us where she is. Where's Tevi?"
Virgil shook his head again, "You can't- you can't help her." He struggled to get the words out. 'It's your fault she's dead. It's your fault any of them are dead.'
"Virgil, I know it may seem that way if you are afraid, but you're wrong," Logan said, kneeling on the side of the bed next to Patton. "Who is Tevi? Where is she, do you know? Virgil, we need you to answer us. Does Deceit know about Tevi?"
'She's gone. They can't help her. They don't know the truth. If they knew the truth they wouldn't be here. You killed your family. You killed them. It's your fault they're dead and your fault that you're life is the way it is'
"Who is Tevi Virgil? We can save her we just need you to tell us. We need you to-"
"Stop talking!" Virgil yelled, surprising the others and making them jump. He had finally been able to pull his hands free from Roman and he brought his legs up to his chest, the rest of the blanket finally falling off him and onto the ground. The air was cold, he wanted his hoodie and the feeling of security it brought. But he knew he wasn't going to get it just yet
"Who is Tevi? Who is hurting her?" Logan said after a moment. "Did you hurt someone Virgil?"
Virgil shook his head, "No! I mean yes but I didn't mean to." Roman pulled his hands away from his head again. He tried to pull his hands away, but Roman held them firm. He readjusted his grip on his hands, his skin scraping a little under Virgils nails but not particularly caring. He continued to hold them down.
"Virgil?" Roman asked softly, "You're scaring us. We want to help you, and we want to help Tevi. But this anxiety attack, it seems a lot bigger than any of the others you've had. We don't know how to help you calm down. But listen, sometimes you accept the blame for things that aren't your fault. You exaggerate scenarios and you make yourself seem like the bad guy. So I need to ask you something, and I need you to try your best to answer the right way. Did you really hurt Tevi? Or are you just blaming yourself for something that wasn't in your control?"
Virgil took a long shaky breath, "I'm blaming myself" He said quietly.
Roman nodded, "Okay. Then who is hurting Tevi? We can help her"
"No, you can't," Virgil told him firmly
"Yes, we can we just need to-"
"No Roman! You can't. Tevi isn't dying she's already dead." Virgil said loudly. The room was silent again. "She's been dead for ten years and three hundred thirty-five-" Virgil looked at the clock "thirty-six days"
Everyone froze. There was no more buzz of electricity. The sounds of tiny tiny raindrops hitting the window were one of the ones only sounds in the room. The other sound was of the others breathing, and of Virgil still trying to desperately calm himself down. Suddenly Patton bent down and hugged him, Virgil flinched and one more shot of electricity shot through him. "It's okay kiddo. It's just me." Patton said quietly, "It's going to be okay. No matter what happens, it'll all be okay"
