Day Five | Tuesday | August 23rd

"Dee?" Remus asked quietly as he followed Deceit into the kitchen. Deceit didn't say anything as he held the hoodie in a death grip and moved around the kitchen. "Dee?"

Deceit slammed a drawer shut, a loud bang sounding as wood hit wood. "What the fuck did I do wrong?" he asked as he turned to face Remus. Tears came out of his eyes, slipping past the scarred side of his face.

"Oh, Dee," Remus said as he slowly approached his boyfriend and wrapped his arms around him. Deceits head dropped onto Remus's shoulder as his legs gave out from underneath him. Remus carefully brought them down to the floor, not strong enough to hold them both up. "Dee, you're never gonna get him back if you keep doing things like this to him."

Deceit sobbed into his shoulder, "Things used to be so easy with him." Deceit said, "What happened?" Remus didn't answer and Deceit continued, "He didn't use to love us, remember that? He'd come home from school and he'd say it. He'd say it before bed, he'd say it in the morning. He didn't say it every chance he got. He didn't love those words."

"Dee..." Remus trailed off

"I don't get it. Those boys kidnapped him. They hurt him too. Why is it that he cares so much about them? What makes us so different?"

"I don't know" Remus replied, he pulled away from Deceit, "Dee, give me the hoodie."

"He doesn't need to learn Remus"

"Tearing apart his hoodie isn't going to solve any problems." Remus said as he placed a hand on the cloth, "This hoodie means so much to him, you know that. Whatever your planning on doing to it, will only make the situation worse. He's been punished enough,"

Deceit didn't let the hoodie go, "This used to be just a normal hoodie. Remember how it looked before the patches?" Remus nodded, smiling slightly, "Oh he was so excited to give it to his friend. Do you know how many times he asked me to make sure the stitches were done right?" Another small smile, "He's always been such a perfectionist"

Remus laughed, "He learned it from you" He learned it. It was different then saying he got it from them. Virgil didn't get any traits from them. He just learned them.

Deceit nodded with his own small smile, it slipped away as he continued, "That day was so hard for him. Do you remember the call from the school? I don't, I wasn't terrified. I thought he'd do it too" Deceit finally let Remus take the hoodie away from him, "He really doesn't think of us as a family" he mumbled as Remus folded the hoodie and set it on the kitchen table. "I've never hurt you, have I?"

"Well you kick in your sleep but I forgive you," Remus said with a laugh.

Deceit didn't laugh, it was much easier to tell when Remus was lying. The man in green sighed, "I wanna get married, Dee. I know you said we don't need it but I want it. When you brushed me off about it I tried not to be upset but I was. It hurt. 'Boyfriend', is such a temporary word. 'Husband' is much more permanent. I never told you because I thought you'd leave me if I did. I told Virgil because he asked me why we weren't married and I wanted to tell him the truth. I love you Dee, and boyfriend isn't the right word for me. Every time you introduce me as your boyfriend, it hurts. I want to be introduced as your husband. Remus Green-Sanders. Does this make you love me any less?"

Deceit's eyes widened in surprise, "Remus I could never love you any less, I fall in love with you, again and again, every day. You're the love of my life, there's not a person in this world I could ever care more about. I'm not sorry that you felt you couldn't tell me this. I'll marry you as many times as you want to keep you happy baby."
