Day One-Hundred and Fifty-Two | Monday | August 8th

Virgil awoke with a jolt and gasped for air as his nightmare slipped away from his mind. He looked around the room, frowning in confusion when he saw Roman sitting against the bed. His head leaned back against the mattress, one arm was crossed in front of him while the other held onto one of Virgil's. Virgil lightly pulled on Roman's hand, "Roman?" his voice came out hoarse and scratchy.

Roman woke up slowly and looked up at Virgil, "Hey," He said as he turned to face him and placed a hand to Virgil's face, "How you feeling?"

Virgil took a deep breath and unintentionally sunk into Roman's touch, his hands were nice and cool and Virgil's whole body felt way too warm, "My head hurts... actually my everything hurts" Roman laughed lightly when Virgil gave him a weak smile, "Is there a reason I'm wearing socks on my hands?" he asked as he looked at the hand Roman still held. Both his hands were covered by long socks with dogs decorating them.

Roman laughed again, "You were scratching in your sleep. Patton said that this is what they do to the kids at Daycare when they have a rash and they're waiting for the parents. Makes it harder to scratch."

Virgil hummed in understanding, "Sorry 'bout nearly dying"

The hand that wasn't holding onto Virgil's sock hand moved from his cheek and began to play with his hair as Virgil closed his eyes, "It's not your fault Stormcloud. You never would have gotten sick if I had only followed your rule"

"Should've asked about the dressing, not the first time salad tried to kill me. Should've known better... why were you sleeping on the floor?"

Roman shrugged, "I didn't want to leave you alone, and I know you're not big on contact. I didn't wanna scare you" Virgil smiled appreciatively and muttered a thank you "Are you still tired V?"

Virgil nodded, "I'll be okay"

"Logan says the rash should go away in a few days. I called my mom too, she says you might feel sick and weak for a bit. She's gonna send us a new EpiPen since we can't get one from your doctor." Virgil nodded again, he closed his eyes and moved closer to the edge of the bed. Closer to Roman. "Pat's gonna stay with you today so he might smother you."

"I'm fine. He doesn't need to 'smother' me. I'm fine"

"V, you nearly died. We're all gonna be a bit smothering. Except maybe Logan. He was the one who had to give you the shot. Patton and I were to scarred so he did it."

"Yeah because he has more sense than you do, only smart one in the bunch."

Roman gasped dramatically and Virgil smirked, "We just wanna make sure you're okay. Just rest for today okay? Try and get some more sleep, I'll bring you some water and a pill for the pain"

Virgil nodded and his sock-covered hand slipped away from Romans to let him leave. He returned a minute later and handed him the water and the pill. "Patton wanted me to bring you this too," Roman said, showing him a granola bar, "Logan's mom told us food might be hard for you to keep down, it's kinda unclear since none of us know how your body reacts after an allergic reaction"

"Thanks," Virgil said, he peeled back the wrapper and took a small bite, that seemed to make Roman happier so Virgil took another despite it tasting gross. Roman stayed until the granola bar was gone. "Hey Roman," Virgil asked, gently pulling Roman until he was sitting with Virgil on the bed.
