I didn't care. I could care less. I wish it was worse.

Those were the thoughts that were running through my head as I entered the Mathis General Hospital. My mother had called me, frantic about Richard. He'd broken his wrist. She wanted me to come here.

When I entered his hospital room, Richard was on the bed, lying on his head, and my mother was holding onto his wrist. The unbroken one.

"Diana, will you stay with your stepfather while I get some coffee?" My mother let go of Richard and left the room, leaving an anxious air after her.

I rolled my eyes at Richard, heading over to the window and looking outside. I still hated him, I'm just here for my Mother. Even though I should be angry with her, she still hired Lisa Crowley to be my lawyer.

I could feel Richard's eyes on my as I peeked through the blinds of the window. I wanted to get out of here, watch the TV if Richard has released those photos of Michael and me.

Richard sighed. "You want to know what happened?"

I flashed him a devious look. "No." I looked back toward the window, focusing my eyes on the full moon. It's blissful glow.

I heard him sigh, and saw him sit up in the reflection of the window. "I was ambling down the road when a man in a white mask stopped me-"

I whirled to Richard. "White mask?" I walked over to the bed.

"Yeah, he told me to leave you alone. He was scary."

"I wish he would have killed you, what else did he say?"

"Nothing else. But if you think I'm releasing those photos tonight, you might be kidding me. He broke my wrist, imagine what else he could break. So, want to come join me on this bed? It's big enough."

I readied my hand to smack him hard on the face when my mother decided to make her appearance. "Coffee?" She hands me a cup, which I refuse.

"I'm tired." I tell her, disappearing down the hall.

Masked mystery saved my life from being plastered on daily tabloids. But had nearly taken Michael's.
