He was very hot, and uncomfortable in the tuxedo. The tie was too tight and the shoes. Everything was just so discomforting, although Ariel Paisley and her children looked absolutely great, he wished he hadn't come.
Michael turned and grabbed a champagne glass, before he could take a sip, someone stepped through the door and he sat the glass down.
Root beer colored eyes, and a golden complexion.
Diana.
She was stunning, dark brown curls caught up in a hair pin and her olive complexion glittered with sweat.
Diana finally caught his eye, and she smiled a bit. As Michael was ready to succumb to her, and forget his anger towards the woman someone came up behind her and took her hand, that she didn't refuse.
His brother, Jermaine. They must have come in together.
"Michael?"
He turned at the sound of his name, only for his eyes to land on Janet, whose hair was lacy and dark. "Diana is rocking that dress, did you invite her?" Janet asked, following his line of sight toward Diana.
Michael shook his head, grabbing the champagne again. "No, but I'm pretty sure I know who did." His tone had taken a dark edge.
Janet curiously looked deeper. "Jermaine invited her." She nodded, crumpling her lips in satisfaction. "At least she's here, I'm going to go say hi to her. Oh yeah, and Ariel wants you to make a toast."
Janet disappeared in the ruffle of her skirt. Michael sighed, Ariel should have alerted him to write a speech before dropping the bomb.
