"Uno out!" Janet shrieked, after having stacked the deck with all of her cards. Woot woot for Janet who'd obviously been cheating.

I threw my cards down in playful anger. "You only won because you pulled a Go Fish on us. Right, Michael?" I turned to him, and lowered my voice instantly.

His head was thrown back on the headboard of Janet's bedside chair, his eyes were shut peacefully and his UNO cards were spilling from his hand. He must have fallen asleep when Janet was labeling me 'loser'.

I can see he thought the game was boring, I mean, he specifically said he wanted to play Monopoly but Janet and I had voted against that for UNO.

And being the emotional sponge I was, I felt bad about it now.

While Janet left the room for some pizza, I sat on the bed and observed Michael. We'd been invited to Janet's fun Thursday, I mean, she promised us food. And yet Michael had fallen asleep.

He looked so peaceful, unmoving and still. That's when he began making the short gasping noises, his eyelids darting back and forth underneath his eyelids.

I scrunched my eyebrows in worry. "Michael?"

His eyes snapped open, fear in them. Then the look disappeared, and Michael stood up from the arm chair. "I'm going to use the bathroom."

I sighed when he left, completely worried.
