"Michael, we can't let them do this. Diana's probably all alone and scared. Why aren't we doing something?" Janet kept saying for the last few hours, but he didn't know what to do.
"MICHAEL!" She screamed, slamming her cup of coffee, I was knocked from my thoughts of the woman.
"What, Janet? What am I supposed to do? Mom said not to do anything and wait til she gets back home and thats's what we're going to do." He snapped at her, making her sit down on her bed.
The front door opened and the angry siblings jumped from their seats, Katherine Jackson stepped inside and shut the door. Sighing in contentment as she removed her winter scarf, hairpins and shoes.
"Mom? What are you doing?" Janet asked. "Aren't we going down to the Brooklyn Police Department. Tell them Michael isn't pressing charges."
Katherine sighed, putting both hands on Janet's shoulders. "Oh, but he is, Janet, honey." She kissed Janet on her head.
"I'M WHAT?" Michael said loudly.
Katherine turned to her most successful son. "With Diana hanging around, you've been beaten, shot and labeled as bizzare." She unbuttoned her suit jacket and hung it up. "It's best if this happens."
"Mom, you have no right to-"
"Do you want me to call Charles?" She said suddenly. "Cause he can straighten things out. Do you, Michael? Do you wantme to call him?"
"No." He said quietly, backing up. "I don't, Mother."
Janet looked like a frog, her large incredulous eyes staring at him as if he'd just killed someone. "So that's it then? You're just going to let Diana go to jail for lord knows how many years?" She turned to Michael. "And you're just going to allow this to happen?"
Michael shook his head. "My hands are tied."
"Only because you're giving her permission to tie them!" Janet screeched. "Why are you doing this, Michael?
He sighed, slowly shaking his head. "I can't see Charles again. I won't."
Janet let out an angry scream, pushing past him angrily.
