I wanted to leave, I wanted to go home and bawl my eyes out. Eat a lot of ice-cream and cry to my best friend.
But I don't have a best friend, I don't have any friends.
I'm completely, and utterly alone.
Problem is, I couldn't leave this Ball until Ariel Paisley gave her speech, it would be too rude and "dirty".
"Tonight, I believe my speeching spirit isn't here. So I've asked my lovely friend here, Michael Jackson, to take my place." Ariel Paisley with the dark hair said up on stage, causing applause to erupt from the crowds.
Jermaine and I were standing together in front of the stage, I was holding a champagne drink in my hand, slowly drinking.
Michael sexily sauntered up onto the stage, and accepted the microphone. "I would like to thank Ariel Paisley for allowing me to make a speech on this wondrous night." He nodded at her and the crowd applaused again. Michael broke off with a nervous laugh and scratched behind his ear.
Damn, he was good with put-ons.
I couldn't pretend I was okay in front of all these people.
I would have lost it.
He had been speaking for a while, but one part caught my ears and I listened deeply. "I believe Ariel's relationship with her son Devon was built up on love and not lies. Lies could destroy a person," I watched him push away his silky dark bangs as we stared directly at each other, even at our distance. "And they didn't have that." Michael blinked, breaking the gaze.
I turned to Jermaine when Michael stepped off the platform and joined Janet, Shay and Katherine. "Can we go, Jermaine? Please?" I ask.
He nods. "All right. You can go back to the car, I'll be out in a minute."
I smiled, setting my glass down.
