I opened my eyes to meet a blur. I heard someone calling out my name but I closed my eyes and responded with a groan. The voice called out to me again and I sat up, opening my eyes. I sat at the edge of the bed and leaned towards the ground, rubbing at my eyes. "Ashton." I suddenly felt weight on the bed next to me and realized it was Michael. "I've tried walking you up for the past hour but you wouldn't wake up. Well, you're awake now and I hate to tell you this now but we have to go. Now."

I raised my head at him. "Go? Why?" He placed a hand on my back. "Prince Calum is supposedly going to stay here in town for awhile and that guard you don't want to see is here by the Inn, as we speak." I shook my head out of daze and sat up quickly but regretted that because everything got blurry so I leaned towards the bed and put my hand on the mattress for support.

"Calum? Why is he here?"

"He could be apart of your fathers plan. To find you."

"Why are they so urgent to find me? I told them I'll come back, I didn't say I didn't want to be king. Otherwise they would've found someone else to fill in my spot."

"...Then why not go back?"

I closed up my backpack and looked at Michael with an annoyed face. I was about to speak when I heard the door downstairs opened in a slam. We both jumped at the noise. A herd of footsteps marched upstairs. I ran over to the door to lock it and put my ear to the door and listened closely to what was happening on the other side.

"Your highness, every room has been searched but nothing was found except for one room." There was silence and then what I was assuming Calum's voice, he called out, "Then go and open the door that room at once." I backed away from the door and looked at Michael as he looked back frightened. I looked around and saw the window and went over to it. I turned to look at the door as the doorknob started to jiggle but stopped, knowing it was locked. I motioned for Michael to come over to me and he quietly did as he grabbed both our bags on the way over.

I swung my backpack over my shoulders and climbed out the window. The door started to be knocked at with shouts on the other side. I carefully stepped onto the roof and took balance so that I wouldn't fall and slip. Michael followed behind.

Good thing this Inn was built on a hill. I walked to the edge of the roof and dropped down and slid off , rolling onto the grassy hill. I quickly got up and heard the door inside the Inn getting kicked open.

I sighed in relief. At least we got out of there in time before we got caught. Michael looks dazed from falling onto the hill but we had no time to recover so I latched onto his wrist and dragged him with me. I was about to run to the corner but stopped abruptly, causing Michael to bump into me which pushed me foreword. The last thing I wanted was to face Luke again but that's exactly what happened.

I bumped into Luke, looking shocked but caught me before I could fall. We both stared at each other and felt like it could last forever but I snapped out of it and shoved him off. It looked like he was about to shout to his companions but I placed my hand over his mouth. I held my pointer finger to my lips and he just stared, intently. "Don't you dare give us away or I'll never forgive you, for real this time." I removed my hand from his mouth and he whispered, "But I forgave you."

I closed my eyes while I sighed. "Why? I gave you every reason not too. Why do you hold onto me? Just let me go. It's just like letting go of your other companions who lost their lives during a war."

Luke furrowed his brows, "Don't compare them to you. You're nothing like them and their nothing like you."

I rolled my eyes. "Why are you and others so urgent to find me? I told you all I'd come back but not now."
