"Sorry for dragging you over here. I thought I heard someone in danger." Ashton says while we were heading back to his home. We were in his bedroom when he heard a distant voice that was apparently screaming for help that was heard outside from his balcony and he went off without telling me what happened. I followed behind him as fast as I can before he disappeared in the forest and a few minutes later I heard a monstrous growl.
"It's alright. At least you can make up for it." It wasn't too long ago when Ashton managed to save my life and I pushed him back into full amount of kisses to express how much I love him without having to say it.
It wouldn't be the first time. I stopped him from walking any further and pushed him onto a tree and leaned in on him so that our lips would be crashing onto each other. It was a short small kiss, pulling away for an instant, then devouring each other. Saying what I said was just an excuse to kiss Ashton again. It was almost impossible to take my eyes off of him, he was so beautiful. His lips were so hot against mine and it felt too good to stop.
"I'll always make it up to you even if it meant you catching me killing someone." Ashton regained his breath back after a few seconds and I can feel his quiet, warm breathing on my face.
"You're too sweet to do such a thing," I couldn't imagine a prince like him picking up a sharp weapon and stabbing someone with it. He would never do such a thing. I know him. "You wouldn't kill me, would you?"
"What makes you say a thing like that? Of course not, not in a million years." He uses his right hand to cup my cheek and his other to curl short pieces of my hair. He's right, what made me say something like that? I've never seen him pick up a weapon. He's not capable of committing a murder, he doesn't have the guts. I've been trained to use a sword all my life but of course, I'd never use it on an innocent person, only those who are our enemies.
"Because you love me?" I ask. I already knew the answer to that, I just like hearing him confirming it and it isn't just him confirming it to me and saying those three simple words. It's the way his brown eyes look into mine, it's the way his voice becomes soothing and soft, it's the way he smiles while he's talking, it's the way his body inches closer to me, it's the way he laughs when he thinks I'm joking, out of all of those things, it already shows me he loves me without having to say it.
"Because I love you. I swear for my life that I'd never do something like that, even if it was you."
.
"Both? What do you mean by both?" I get up from the chair I was sitting in and cautiously watched Calum just in case anything bad happens, not that I think something will happen. He looked at me and said, "Look, I'm not expecting you to understand. All I need you to is stay aware of your surroundings and not trust a whole lot of people, alright? It's the only way for you to be safe, trust me."
"How can you be so sure I'll be safe? For all you know it can be from an unknown source coming out of nowhere."
"I know what I'm saying! I didn't understand it at first either but now I have faith in these voices and I know they are telling the truth. It's not an unknown source, it's a human being in fact. Like you and me. They could be someone you know. I'm just warning you." He was shouting until it went down in a calm voice. He lowered his gaze. I've never heard Calum shout like that before. The voice he had was full of confidence and strong willingness. Something you'd heard from a king, a ruler, and a leader. The moment he was taking authority, I swore I saw a bit of his eyes glow a pure white, and green looking smoke pouring out when he clutched his hands in anger. It couldn't be made up, there was no sort of light that could easily trick my eyes.
"Okay, I'll... believe you. I'll be warier than before. You'll come to me if this voice tells you anything else, yes?...no?" I'm starting to recognize something about him. How could that be though? I met him a few months ago but something tells me I knew him before that. He stood in the same area he has been for the last nine minutes and I was slowly and carefully inching towards the exit to the bedroom. My gut was telling me to leave yet my heart is telling me to stay and ask questions. "Yes," I acted casual and pretended I wasn't leaving by observing over at his collection of books. I heard his footsteps drawing near and his hand touched my shoulder. I looked over at him and saw that his face was full of regretful. For what reason?
