"Luke! Behind you!" Ashton shouted out before falling unconscious. My head whipped around and saw an Orc about to take a hit on me. I pulled out my sword in time, blocking their strong attack. It was really hard to push them off balance from the position I am in by kneeling down and turned my body around in an awkward way.

I could hear their breath and I could smell it, making me gag inside my mouth. Even if they were more badly hurt than I was, they still took advantage of my weak stance and pushed their ax closer to where it scratched off the skin from my shoulder. I hissed at the pain but didn't let my guard down. I couldn't let myself die so soon, not like this.

I gripped the handle tighter and had my other hand above the handle grip. I started to push away the ax from myself until it got closer to them instead. I took away my sword from the sideways position and swiftly sliced through the middle of their body, making them drop their weapon and rolling onto the ground, silencing themselves.

My arm fell when the sword I was holding fell. I looked through my bag and searched for healing materia for me and Ashton. They were green glowing orbs and restored as much health as well as recovering from bruises. I used it on both of us making the visible bruises on our skin go away. Fighting and killing enemies was such an exhausting job even if it was a small group of them.

I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding and sat on the ground next to Ashton, waiting for the others to come back with some help.

.

Ashton was ignoring me. That's weird, we haven't had any arguments or anything like that. Yesterday was just fine so why was he ignoring me? Not only was he ignoring me but he acted so dully. He gave off no emotion to anything, laughing, being happy, being annoyed, none of that. It was a straight face he always pulled off sometimes. The silence aura around him was making me nervous.

"Ashton," I say as I saw him sitting in a chair in a diner room all by himself, looking at nothing. "Are you okay?"

He didn't say anything just slumping forward in his seat and putting his hands over his face. I quietly sat in the chair on his left and looked at him. "You can tell me anything. I'm here for you remember?"

I heard him suck in a breath, trembling slightly, and then I heard a sniff come from him. He trailed his hands at his hair and gripped it. He was sobbing, he was crying. The tears that were forming underneath his eyes started to smear everywhere on his face as he tried to wipe them away only for more to come after. I didn't like it when he cried. I didn't like it when anyone cried. I had to comfort him, it was in my blood. I put my hand gently on his shoulder. It was complete silence between us. No one talked. All that was heard was Ashton quietly crying to himself. I wanted to speak up and say something else but nothing came out of my mouth.

A silent raspy voice spoke out suddenly, "I miss my brother's happiness,

I miss my old group of friends,

I miss when my mom wasn't sad all the time,

I miss my sister..." Ashton let out from behind his covered mouth. This is what got Ashton quiet.

After his sister's death, his brother started to isolate from everyone, including Ashton. He was always away from people. Before that, he was out and about around people, always smiling but now he isn't.

Ashton used to have a group of old friends and used to be around them all the time, they disappeared after some time, not in touch as they used to.

One of the family members from Ashton's mum's side had passed away and she hasn't been the same since sort of like his brother Harry.

As mentioned before, Ashton's sister had died and everyone in the family misses her. It mostly hit the siblings hard in a way no one would understand except those two. I wouldn't understand, all I had to do was be with him along the way.
