"Goodbye" ~6

Corbyn POV

We went in a huddle leaving the girls out. I didn't want them to know who was going with who. 

"I think that Corbyn should go with Kaitlynn." Jack said looking at me.

"Why me?" I question his last statement. Was it that obvious? I mean they do know me well. 

"We say the way you looked at her." Jonah said smiley. I guess it was obvious.

"Oh- and the way you hugged her back with that surprised hug." Zach said laughing.

"I think we figured it out. All except Corbyn go with Cailin. Corbyn you are going with Kaitlynn." Daniel said getting out of the huddle.

"So who is going with who?" Kaitlynn asked. I looked at her. She didn't look like she cared how she looked. She wasn't wearing any makeup and was in ripped leggings and an old hoodie.

"We will surprise you. Turn around and start biking. We will follow." I said looking into Kaitlyn's blue eyes. 

I couldn't be falling for her. I mean she was around the same age. We had just started a band last year too. 

Kaitlynn turned as Cailin went straight. I turned and followed Kaitlynn. Jack waved to me. I think he was trying to say goodluck.

"Hey Whittles wait up!" I called. I remember how she prefers to be called by her last name. 

"Sorry! I am not used to being with someone on my way home." She called back. She turned around and had a confused face. "The rest go with Cailin?"

"Yeah. They said that they wanted just me to go." I said. 

Kaitlynn got off her bike and stood next to it. She wasn't far ahead of me. I looked at her face. She was red. I didn't know why. 

"Oh, I wonder why..." she said. Her face had been bright red. 

"So, how long have you known Cailin?" I asked as I caught up to her. 

"I think it's been around 7 years." She said trying to remember. We walked across a street.

"Wow, that's a long time." I said looking at her. They seem close.

"Surprisingly she isn't my closest friend." She said smiling. 

"Really, wow you guys seem close."

"I mean we kinda are. We always fight. But when we need to talk about stuff we will." She said looking up at a house. 

"Do you live far?" I asked. My hands were getting a little shaky. 

"No, I am just around the bend. This land is circular. I am on the other side." She said looking at me.

"Hey.... can I have your number?" I was not sure how she would respond. 

She froze in place. Her face became really red. She looked at me and then back at her bike.

"Sure..." she said, pulling out her phone. 

"Cool." I pulled out my phone and waited for her to give me her number.

"Its ***-***-****." She said looking down at her phone. She looked at it. "We can take our time. I have 5 more minutes." 

I saved her number in my phone and texted her. 

"I just texted you." I said looking down at her phone. Then there was a notification. 

She saved my number and smiled. She put her phone away and continued walking. There had been a moment of silence. She had started to sing as we turned. She was quiet and I couldn't hear her well.

It had sounded amazing. It sounded like she was singing "taking you" . I smiled and looked at her.

"You sound great," I said looking at her.

"Thank you." She said freezing up a bit.

We turned another corner. We talked a little bit. Then we got to a few houses before a green one on the other side of the road.

"My house is a few more down. I am sure my dad is watching outside the window so I don't want to be seen with you. I will get in trouble that way." She said looking down at a house and then at me. 

She gave me a hug and got on her bike. 

"Bye Besson," she said looking back at me.

"Bye Whittles," I said waving goodbye. 

She rode down the street as I stood there. She went up the driveway of a house and disappeared behind cars. I turned around and started to walk back.
