"A normal walk" ~9

Kaitlynn's POV

I told my dad where I was going. He was up because he was getting ready for work. He told me that I had to go to my grandmoms after. 

I left the house and walked down the street. There was a secret passageway that not many people knew about. You could not bike through it. 

I walked down the street into the passageway. There were overgrown vines everywhere. I walked through and came to another street. It would only take me about 5 more minutes to get there. 

I walked down one street. Crossing the other ones. I felt a vibration in my pocket. I pulled out my phone.

Corbyn: I am around 5 minutes away 
Me: Ok so am I
Corbyn: Really I thought it took like 10 minutes to get to the park
Me: I went through a shortcut
Corbyn: Oh
Me: See you soon

Kaitlynn's POV 

I walked a little more. I was close to the park. I was only a block away. I turned behind me. I saw a car. 

"Yo! Whittles!" A voice screamed. It was the man in the car. He poked his head out of the window. I squinted. It was corbyn. I waved.

"I am going to beat you there!" I screamed at him. I started to run. I was not far. I heard him speed up. He was not far behind. 

I was in front of the park. I ran across the field in between the park and the one sidewalk. There was another one in the middle. I turned around. 

Corbyn was just turning the corner so he could park in front of the park. 

I turned back around and hit my foot on a rock. I feel on the ground. I got back up quickly. I looked ahead. I was right in front of the park. I jumped and touched the pole. 

I then sat on the ground examining myself. All of a sudden I felt a sudden pain in my knee. I looked at my right knee. There was a hole in my black leggings.

"This is the fourth time this week." I mumbled to myself. I looked at my knee. It was bleeding.

Corbyn ran over to me. I guess he saw me fall. It hurt badly but I just brushed it off. I was used to getting hurt. 

"Are you okay?" He asked, looking at my bleeding knee. 

"I am fine." I said getting up.

"Okay, do you need to sit down or anything?" He said trying to help me up.

"I am fine, come on let's just take a walk," I said without taking his help. "Or do you just want to hang out of the swings." 

"Let's walk." He said smiling at me.

We walked around the path between the park and the sidewalk. We talked for a while getting to know each other.
