Sofia's Choice

The Letter

Sofia and Amber make it just in time to change before the dinner bell rings.

"How was your day girls?" King Roland asks his daughters.

"Busy," Amber says.

"Very busy," Sofia says in a saddened tone.

"Is everything okay Sofia?" Queen Miranda asks.

"I have a hard thing to do," Sofia says.

"What is it?" James asks after swallowing his food.

"Clio is my nominee for the next protector but her kingdom is a mess and she needs to focus on that," Sofia explains.

"Sofia, this came for you," Baileywick says.

"Thanks Baileywick," Sofia says taking the letter.

Sofia's face goes from sad to worry.

"May I be excused?" Sofia asks not even bothering to finish her dinner.

"Of course," King Roland says.

Sofia runs to her room.

"Sof, what is going on?" Clover asks as he sees her rush to her closet.

"Corinthia is having trouble, they need me overnight," Sofia says changing back into her protector outfit.

"But what about Crackle and me?" Clover asks.

"I will see if Amber will watch you guys," Sofia says.

"But what if we need something?" Clover asks.

"I will tell her everything," Sofia says.

There is a knock on the door.

"Come in," Sofia responds.

"Sofia, is everything okay?" Amber asks as she walks into the room.

"Corinthia is in trouble," Sofia says in a worried tone.

"Oh no, is there anything I can do to help?" Amber asks.

"Can you watch Clover and Crackle for the night?" Sofia asks.

"Sure," Amber says.

"He likes that purple pillow by my bed and Crackle can sleep on the pink pillow," Sofia says.

"Right, be safe Sofia," Amber says hugging her sister.

"I will, I have to talk to mom and dad," Sofia says.

"Okay, come on Clover," Amber says as she grabs the pillows.

"Be careful Sof," Clover says as he hops behind Amber.

"I will Clover," Sofia says.

Sofia goes to her parents room and knocks on the door.

"Mom, Dad?" Sofia says through the door.

"Come in Sofia," her mom says.

Sofia opens the door.

"Sofia, is everything okay?" Her father asks.

"The letter was from Corinthia. They need my help and I have to stay overnight, Queen Odelle said it was okay," Sofia says.

"If it's okay with her then it's okay with us," King Roland says.

"Thanks Dad," Sofia hugs her father.

The king walks over to a long rope by the door and pulls it.

"Yes your Majesty," Baileywick comes quickly.

"Can you please get a flying coach ready? Sofia needs to go to Corinthia," King Roland requests.

"Already done your Majesty," Baileywick says.

"Thank you," King Roland says as Baileywick walks out to the hall to make sure everything is going smoothly.

"Good luck Sofia and be safe," her mom says.

"I will, I promise," Sofia says.
