Twenty Seven - Break off

Jeongguk's POV

A month had gone by since my time off with Taehyung, yet my my heart feels an intense sense of longing as I look back on the life that Taehyung and I shared. Oh my God... I couldn't imagine living every day without him.

I remember all the nights that we spent as if the world was ours, as if we were the only two people in the world.

Taehyung... You have no idea how much I remember every single moment that I had with you.

I miss Taehyung, I truly do. I didn't get to see him that much in fire station because he's currently attached to general hospital. He's been busy, giving lectures to rookie nurses about the life of paramedic.

'A little guide here, paramedics are the nurses who perform outside the fluorescent-lit hallways of the hospital. That's when people realize there are innumerable differences between nurses and paramedics.'

'The chasm between the two is a wide one. It is this gap, the bundle of differences, that make it more fitting for paramedics to advance. They are poised and ready to move forward.'

Alright, rather than contradicting my point, I emphasizes it. Why do I tell you about this? Because my boyfriend Taehyung, is a paramedic and I'm proud of him. --- Because of him, I'm able to go through this hardest missions so far for me to handle, and I don't know how to react seeing his sweet boxy smile again soon.

Umm, Kat? She's recovering well, physically.... Sometimes I would find her daydream or spacing out in the balcony. But she's a bit cheerful nowadays after spending her time with Seokjin hyung and his girl, Emmy.

Although at times she would cling on to my arms as if we're couple which I have to gently shoved her. She would whined over small things which Seokjin and I have to give in to her request.

But whenever I speak up to her whether she has move on from the loss of her child or she have thought of going back to America again, she will stormed off right away.

I sighed as I walked my way to the open space carpark and sunk into the drivers seat, my twelve hours shift already ends and I'm still not quite sure what to do with it at the moment. Maybe I should get back home and freshen up before coming down to the station again as I have to covered another colleague duty. I push the radio button on, just to switch it off back because my mind and my heart was kinda unsettling.

After a few moments of thought, I took out my iPhone and scrolled through my contacts. My thumb hovered over 'Taebear💜'  before I clicked it, opening the WhatsApp window, and tried my best to ignore the butterflies in my stomach while I type...

'Taebear...'
