Y/n finally steadied her breathing and calmed down, the pair continued to the next destination.
Jacob had been informing her on Eagle Vision, how it works, what to do, etc.
The Wolf saw a shadow move nearby, her eyes studying the area closely before returning ahead of them. Jacob kept saying how excited he was about her unlocking the skill. "You don't believe how great it is, Y/n!" Eventually, Y/n shushed him, gesturing to go topside and remove the guards. Jacob nodded, grinning as he ran up a wall, climbing up like a spider on a web. Y/n followed suit, simply on the opposite side. She both took out two guards, before dropping down two different ways. Y/n went by tree, and Jacob went by hay cart.
Y/n whistled to gain his attention, pointing towards a balcony where a lookout was perched, apparently not noticing the two talented killers lurking among them. Jacob nodded and threw a knife towards the lookout, who fell once the knife sliced cleanly through their throat. Y/n picked up a small, barbed metal wire she had found, wrapping it around a Templar's neck and cinching it, causing him to gasp and splutter as the barbs cut into his flesh. He groped aimlessly at the wire, turning his clean hands a deep shade of crimson with every touch. Eventually, he fell and Y/n quickly unwrapped the wire, silently jogging to her next victim.
"Sir, there are dangers beyond what you could comprehend out there! Do not leave this building!" Some poor Templar said to a rich looking bloke, Y/n identified him as the target. Gotcha. She thought, throwing the wire -- which she had wrapped around a small stone -- at the target's head. Once the barbed stone had impacted with his temple, he reeled back, clutching the side of his face as blood trickled down his face. Y/n ran forward, releasing her hidden blades with a small -shik-.
Sprinting to the target, she felt the satisfactory crunch of bones and tissue splitting as she delivered a solid punch to his face, then repeatedly slicing and stabbing. She moved as fast as she could, until he looked somewhere inbetween a humanoid lump and a bloody mess. Y/n's face and coat was splattered in the red, sticky, thick liquid. Her eyes held a look of emptiness, venom and anger. But when she turned around, meeting a very stunned Jacob's gaze, her emotions changed into happiness, affection and...fear. The fear came from her realizing he might leave if she continued to be this brutal.
"Okay...lets move on, shall we?" Jacob suggested, hoping to divide her murderous habits and step away. Nodding, Y/n followed Jacob out...he thought it remarkable how she literally went from trying to kill him randomly to loving him. "Hey, Y/n..?" Instantly, her eyes locked onto his form, an inquisitive glint in the e/c orbs. "Why did you go...well...crazy...on that guy?" She shrugged, she had no clue. Her only motive during her stab-slice-spree was she just felt so...angry. As if that man had been responsible for her old Mentor's death and she knew.
"Not sure...just kinda felt right, I guess. Rather difficult to explain." He eyed her cautiously, making sure she didn't snap.
Glancing around, Jacob lead her to a secluded area. Y/n scanned the area, making sure there wasn't anything that could try to harm them.
He turned around, gripping her shoulders roughly with a serious look in his brown eyes. He was taking in every detail as if searching for any faults or injuries. Y/n tensed, remembering the last time this sort of thing happened. "What are you doing?" She asked, the nervousness creeping into her voice despite all effort to keep it at bay. Jacob faltered, noticing she was scared by his actions. He sighed, loosening his grip and pulling her into a hug. "Sorry, Love." He whispered as she remained tense in his embrace.
And then the shit hit the fan.
Y/n--Or rather, the Wolf, whipped out of his grasp, her pupils shrinking as she recoiled away from him. She stepped back when he tried to approach. "Easy, Love...I didn't mean any wrongdoing.." Despite his words, she sprung out her blade, retracting it the second later. A simple warning for him not to come closer. "Y/n?" He asked, growing concerned as she seemed to become more and more agitated and fearful..like a cornered animal. She shrank backwards, before turning in her heels and scampering up the wall. Jacob let her flee, hoping she could calm down. After a few minutes, he decided to look for her and make sure she didn't get herself into trouble.
"Oi, why don't I come over there and teach you a lesson?!" A Blighter shouted, flailing his arms in an effort to seem intimadating. Even though he was much shorter than everybody's favorite broken Assassins, Y/n L/n. She turned her head and studied his every move, she half turned her body to face him, widening her stance as if to sprint at him. The Blighter didn't seem to notice the crazed and predatory gaze of the Wolf. She stalked up to him, she would've been a ghost had it not been for the sound of her hidden blade unsheathing and glinting in the light. The Blighter's gaze fell onto the blade as he stepped back -- only an inch.
Y/n, however, did not slow her pace until she had effectively had him pinned against a wall of some factory with her blade pressed against his neck. "You won't kill me...I've heard of you.." The Blighter spoke boldly, slightly puffing his chest out. Y/n remained silent and simply pressed her blade harder against his skin, causing small crimson droplets to ooze from behind the razor sharp knife. "You're that broken whore of an assassin, aren't you? What did they call you? The Wolf?" His jest only fueled her murderous intent...she gently slid the blade across his neck, making the bloke gasp in fright and shudder at the feeling of his throat slowly being sliced open.
And then she kicked the side of his knee, causing him to fall onto his other knee. The Wolf spun round, jumping off the ground and kicking him in the face before landing a solid, sickly satisfying, stab to his chest. The silver blade sliced through the sinew and muscle and slid in between his ribs. Right into his left lung. Y/n retracted the blade and walked away, muttering something loud enough for the doomed Blighter to hear. "Jest all you want..but in the end, I get the last laugh. Sayonara."
--
Jacob had finally spotted her...sitting upon the ground and lazily leaning against a brick and mud laden wall. Several pools of blood accompanied by their bodies lay nearby. Problem was, Y/n was also sitting in a pool of blood. Her blood. Immediately, Jacob raced down his vantage point and to his Wolf. "Y/n!" He gasped for breath after running five hundred meters.
The red liquid had been oozing from a bullet embedded in her side, her eyes held a look of dazed regret mixed with peace. She responded without words, her right index finger tapping against the cloth of her coat. She had her right hand wrapped over her wound, the over was laying limp against the ground. Jacob crouched, scooting closer to at least get a closer look. Recoiling and staring at her lover with a thousand yard stare...she uttered one word, "...Tired..." before passing out. Jacob frantically tried to wrap the wound and carry her to safety...except she had been in the Slums of Whitechapel, and the nearest surgery was in City of London.
"Come on...stay with me!" He mumbled as he carried her to a carriage, placing her insif with great haste. Hopping onto the coach seat, he took up the reigns and slapped them, letting out a sharp whistle and shouting. "Coming Through!" As he sped past a couple children, who were playing in the street. Luckily, they skittered away unharmed.
--
Upon arriving at his destination, he carried Y/n inside and hollered for someone -- anyone. A young woman, about early twenties, came rushing in from a back room. She saw Y/n's limp figure clutched in Jacob's arms and vanished into the room again. This time emerging with an older man. "James, she's been shot-" The man, James, nodded and took Y/n from Jacob and left into the other room. He laid Y/n on a wooden table and had his assistant prepare for removal of the bullet. Jacob was told to wait outside...which he did...except horribly impatient and pacing the length of the lobby.
Minutes passed...an hour...two...
Finally James once again emerged from the surgery room, nodding to Jacob with a small smile. "She'll be fine, just don't let her do anything active like climbing or chasing or fighting for a few weeks." Jacob grinned, relief washing over him at the news. "So no fight clubs?" The doctor nodded, chuckling lightly. "No fight clubs."
"Thanks again, James." The male Assassin said, graciously shaking his hand and leading a groggy Y/n out of the building. "...did I get shot...who's the prick that shot me..." Y/n lazily muttered as she used Jacob for support.
He was thinking about leading her to the Train...hiding her in his train car since Evie never really went in there. Except..what would happen when the painkillers wore off? Would she go berserk and run off? Hurt anyone?
Hopefully she'll be more tame...?
