Warnings: Cursing, Gruesome Depictions, Gore, and a Phsycotic Assassin
--It had been several days since Jacob had last seen Y/n. He began to worry over where she was, if she was okay, if she was even still alive.
"She's fine...", Jacob told himself as he hopped off the Train and headed for Southwark. He decided to walk instead of taking a carriage, since the roads were clogged and his zip-line needed repairs. A small child, around maybe eight or nine years of age approached him, giving him a piece of paper. Jacob thanked the child and opened the note. His heart skipped a beat and nearly stopped when he read the words messily scrawled across it, in handwriting he knew all too well.
Above You.
He looked up, seeing a cloaked figure on the rooftop. At first he thought it was his sister, Evie, until it pulled out a handgun and began to fire. He managed to take cover behind a brick wall, only being grazed by one or two of the bullets that strayed from their original target. Thoughts raced through his mind as he pulled a smoke bomb from a pouch on his belt. Tossing it down, he focused his senses as the alleyway filled with smoke. He gazed around, searching for any sign of his attacker...yet found nothing. "What the-", He was interrupted by someone landing on top of him, aiming to punch him in the jaw. He saw the glint of brass knuckles and quickly shifted his head from the incoming strike. To further add to his shock, the cobblestone had cracked beneath the strike. He gazed at his attacker, who had raised their fist again, attempting once more to hit him.
Jacob could not quite make out the facial features, but knew from the clothing that this was indeed Y/n. So why was she attacking him? He shoved her off, standing up hastily and raising his own fists. Least he could do was block her strikes, right? "Love, it's me, Jacob...whats going on?" Instead of an answer, he was met by a brisk whirlwind of attacks. He blocked most of them, hoping to get her to calm down.
He felt a sudden pain in his side, a blinding hot sensation tore throughout his abdomen, paired with a warm sensation in the area. Looking down to see what had happened, he saw Y/n's hidden blade found itself a new sheath just below the leftside of his ribcage. Just as he saw it, the blade retracted into its original position in the mechanism. "Y-You stabbed..me..", Jacob managed to stammer before leaning against a wall and pressing on the wound to avoid bleeding out. Y/n began closing in, releasing her hidden blade once more, she stared him down like a rabbit caught in a snare.
This wasn't Y/n anymore...there was only hunter and prey.
There was only the Wolf.Time seemed to slow down as four Rooks came sprinting into the alleyway, attacking the Wolf to keep her off Jacob long enough for him to escape.
Y/n pummeled and slashed the Rooks before they could even land a single blow. With two now out cold - and possibly dead - the others were helping her prey escape, she drew her handgun and shot the two on the ground, ensuring their death. She calmly followed the remaining two now very panicked Rooks and their injured leader, Jacob, as they hobbled away together. She vanished among shadows as the night set in. They had brought Jacob to one of the gang hideouts, hoping to heal him enough to be able to get to the Train.
She watched from a rooftop as they communed among themselves, keeping a steady gaze on her prey, who was laying helpless on a bed. The building her target was in was right across from her perch upon the rooftop. She reloaded her pistol, checked her gear and waited...
She had waited several hours, until Jacob finally emerged from his resting place. He was stitched and bandaged, gazing warily at anything that moved while he began heading for the Train.
His eyes were red and puffy, his cheeks flushed. Had he been crying?
