"i'm home" i spoke loudly, entering the house.
"iris..come on sit here" my mom patted the place next to her on the couch as my dad watched me with mysterious eyes.
"what's going on?" i spoke uneasily
it's once in a blue moon when my family actually sits together to talk about any serious matters. it usually starts with a fight and ends with a fight. i also didn't fail to notice how my mom's eyes were a bit swollen and how my dad's lips were straightened into a thin line
"we're thinking about shifting" my mom spoke out of the blue as my face crunched in utter confusion.
"out of nowhere? Why? Where?"
"violet Town" she uttered finally looking in my eyes, my body unable to function anymore.
That's where arron, Emma and almost everyone in the group lives. Why did she decide to move there suddenly? How will they get a house there so fast? What was going on?
I had so many questions I wanted to ask but I kept quite abiding the rule of 'don't question, don't speak. Just listen and obey'.
"okay mom... I'll go to my room now" I mumbled, getting up and moving towards my room without looking at my dad
Something was off...very off but I just couldn't put my finger on it. After living all their lives Humbly, away from the super rich lifestyle why did they suddenly decide to move?
I slumped on my chair, my eyes darting towards the pills on my table. Slowly standing up and wrapping my hand around them I rolled open the lid, staring intently at the nostalgic white color.
With the bottle still in my hands I moved towards the bin, beside my study table. Tilting the bottle slowly I could see and hear the pills drop one by one with a thrash in the metal surface of the bin. I toppled the bottle over, getting rid of everyone of them for once and for all.
I did not know what I was doing, I was terrified of the consequences, the adrenaline in my veins rushed as a side effect of my daring and rebellious act but most of all I felt free, I felt strong... I felt like I could conquer the world and I was in control of my own actions and thoughts.
After throwing the pills away and taking a hot relaxing shower, draining all my thoughts away I sat down on the comfortable study chair in my room again. I pulled out the chemistry book, willing to start from scratch and understand all the concepts. I could focus, better than ever. I act understood what I was studying without immense stress.
After an hour or so I picked up my phone to look at the time, it was eleven pm. The wind thrashed against my window causing it to jerk continuously.
Sighing I made my way out of my room, moving down the stairs. I could hear the constant rambling and thrashing from the basement, moving towards the source of the voice I sighed. The basement door was wide open.
Taking slow and steady steps, I pulled the bulky door with all my might fighting with the wind. I stopped in my tracks as my eyes fell on the familiar chest in the basement and yet again it was cleaner than it should be. Almost all the dust and darkness it shone.
Deciding that I had nothing better to do I moved towards the chest l, curiously kneeling down to open it. With a bit of effort I successfully opened it wide.
Scanning what was inside, I sat back in disappointment. I don't know what I expected but I certainly didn't expect a pile of plain white papers and some files along with some small boxes that looked useless.
I was about to close it before an object caught my eye. A pair of shoes, a white pair of shoes that felt oddly familiar. As if in a trace I reached towards the shoes grazing them with my fingertips slightly before picking them up, observing them with keen eyes.
