I opened the door to see Aiden with a little boy who was most probably Adam, I smiled at the kid looking back at Aiden

"he says he'll pick him up tomorrow" Aiden spoke with his hands in his pockets. His nose red from the chilly weather

I nodded in reply to Aiden  as Adam moved inside the house, immediately exploring things as I smiled adorably looking back at the 14 years old boy

"do you want to come inside?" i asked Aiden aware of the fact that my parents weren't home, though I did told my mom that a 'friends' 14 year old brother was coming over since she's busy with something

I actually stated the fact that Adam was coming over instead of asking her, gaining advantage of the heated argument between us before I knew she won't say anything and go along with it because even she know once I burst there's no going back

"no it's fine, I'll head home" Aiden spoke, respectably declining the offer

"take good care of him, he's a bit mischievous but a good kid" he added as I looked back at Adam who was playing with a random table decorating

Closing the door I moved towards the boy sitting beside him as he briefly looked up at me before doing whatever he was doing.

"are you arron's friend?" he spoke still trying to bend the piece of metal somehow as I looked at him amused

He was quite tall for his age, just a bit shorter than me and had beautiful blue eyes unlike arron's dark orbs and hazelnut hair matching mine.

He did resemble arron but had a comparatively tan completion compared to him, his log eyelashes covered his eyes perfectly as he looked down at the piece of decor in his hand.

"yes you could say that" I replied as I smiled at how adorable his voice sounded. It was low pitched but had a hint of deepness in it

It was incredible how the both were so different yet alike.

"he never sent me to a girl's home before" Adam smiled as he finally looked up at me with his innocent yet wise blue eyes.

Hearing that i could feel the euphoria rising in my heart but at the same time causing it to break as I remembered the events that happened earlier in the day.

"what's your name?" he spoke again his voice much more interested as he placed the piece of decor back pressing his back against the sofa comfortably

"I'm iris" I spoke extending my hand for him to shake, which he did without hesitation an adorable smile creeping up his face that made me do the same.

"I'm Adam" he adorably replied with a wide boxy smile that made me giggle

"let's go to my room" I spoke standing up as the kid followed me behind hurriedly, racing me on the stairs once in a while and laughing hysterically after reaching the top first

He was the opposite of arron, he laughed at every chance he got, he was talkative, cracked jokes a lot, could vibe with anyone regardless gender or age gap. His eyes had no sign of any pain or loneliness and I sincerely wished watching him laugh that he would be like that for a long time

I prayed God to hide the reality from him and let him grow with galaxies in his eyes and love in his heart with pureness in his mind. I prayed desperately for him to understand the power and love and the courage to accept it. I wished for him to grow up in protection.

We talked for a long time, he told me about how he and arron live alone and his father sometimes visits them. He told me how he got sick of always staying in when arron wasn't at home
