Chapter 77- Austin

"...for your brother's and my sister's sake"

He finished as i tried to contain the tears in my eyes. 

Not knowing what else to say or do i leaned on my tiptoed bringing my face close to his as he did the same.

His lips met mine, his hand around my waist as i leaned onto him.

I could feel his breath getting shallow as the kiss heated up his hand traveled to my sides as i gasped in pain.

"what?" he pulled back, breathless; an expression of worry evident on his face.

He looked down at his hand, immediately pulling them away.

"shit i'm sorry, i got carried away" he mumbled.

"by the way, why did you wake up so early?" i asked as he looked at axel behind me sleeping peacefully.

"it's the final hearing today" he spoke.

My breath got stuck in my throat realizing that the future of two families depends on what happens today.

"should i come?" i asked not trying to show my anxiety in-front of him.

"no, you're not well. I just wanted to meet you before i go" he tugged a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"take me with you, please" i pleaded looking up at him.

"don't look at me like that" he smiled once again.

"like what?" i asked once again knowing his answer well.

"do you want me to show you?" we laughed in unison.

"i love you so much iris, always remember that" he held the side of my face.

"i love you too" i whispered back.

After dropping off axel off at the nursery me and arron headed towards the court with anxiety taking over me as arron noticed and held my hand in his.

"it's going to be fine" he whispered in my ear as we sat down waiting for the session to begin.

My eyes lit up as mom came in, her face shocked as soon as her eyes fell on me. My dad was alongside her with no expression on my face, maintaining his reserved business man image like he always does.

After a while arron's mom also entered followed by arron's dad.

I noticed arron's eyes on his mom a sad expression taking over his face.

Of course he felt guilty after making his mom face his dad after more than seven years. Dragging her back to the mess she gave everything to escape from and tainting axel's and Adam's image as the 'son of the murderer'.

The judge sat as the court session began.

The starting went by smoothly as i tried to understand how things worked and what was going on.

"The ones who knew are as guilty as the one who killed" the lawyer spoke in defense of arron's father as arron huffed.

"she was abused, she couldn't tell anyone considering her state of mind" The other lawyer spoke with an argumentative tone, my parents out of the frame for a while.

After endless arguments and denials nothing could come out as a final answer. THE case moved on now involving my parents as they ended up with a huge fine.

Arron's mother was proved innocent and let go.

However what was going to happen to his father?

"Two years in prison, as the culprit wasn't in his right mind"
