Christmas...
Kiara's Point Of View
I woke up to noise in the background, so I sit up from my, bed and lookup. Wait...bed? Did I forget that I moved from my desk and had actually had fallen asleep here?! Why is my memory so bad?
I look away from the bed and look towards the left of me, to my surprise I see Andrew and Irene sitting down talking about their thoughts on our vacation so far, not noticing I was awake. Quietly, I look at my surroundings, for a Christmas celebration we were being really simple this year, I reach for my phone and check if I have any missed calls or texts.
Besides messages from Eliza and my dad, I didn't receive any other texts, so I quickly reply to them and put my phone down once again.
"Hey Ki! We didn't notice you were awake!" Irene smiles at me and ushers me to join them sitting crossed-legged on the floor.
"Look we got you a breakfast sandwich from a coffee shop nearby." To my delight, I grab the food from Andrew eagerly and start eating.
I look up at them and I noticed that oddly, Irene and Andrew are starting to become more comfortable with each other, unlike before.
When we were younger and had social gatherings they usually wouldn't talk much and would hang out with other groups of friends, but now I'm happy to see that they get along fairly well. Irene has always been an amazing role model despite being only months apart, she's responsible, caring, understanding and a perfectionist, maybe even second to me if not first.
Overall her personality fits well with Andrew's, so I might have to do something about this later on.
"What time do you guys get back from the hotel yesterday? I'm surprised I had slept for more than fourteen hours, I must have been very tired..." I chuckle awkwardly.
"Well by the time I got here, it was maybe around 5 pm? I saw you fell asleep at the desk so Mari and I had to carry you to your bed! We're really weak you know!" laugh softly at this and look back at where I left my books. Puzzled I see that my things were neatly placed into a pile to one side.
"Dante had come inside to check up on you and he moved some of your things around, I hope you don't mind."
I look at them with a neutral expression but then smile, "I don't mind, I'm grateful actually. Oh! Before, I forget, Merry Christmas!"
I squeeze both of them into a hug and they fall to the ground laughing.
We decide to wake everyone up to go get breakfast together so while Andrew and Irene do that I head towards another hotel room with a gift bag. I knock softly, I hear shuffling in the background and once the door is opened I'm met face to face with Mrs. Greenwood.
"Good Morning Mrs. Greenwood! I wanted to give this to you and your husband." I gave her a bag of scented candles and she smiles wide and starts suffocating me in a hug.
"Thank you, Dear! You really are such an amazing young woman." I smile at her compliment and thank her for what she said.
I knock on the room of my aunt and uncle's, they both greet me politely and I leave in a quick manner.
Finally, I knock on my mom's door. She opens it smiling and gestures me to come inside.
Once I enter I sit down on her bed and tell her about our trip so far. Usually, my mom is very overprotective of me, but because she trusts my friends she is a little more lenient compared to my dad. I've known this since I was little, I'm sure she knows how much they mean to me.
