May 12th, 2019...

As the winners of the United Relay Event two weeks ago. We were all going to a movie of our choice, and that movie happened to be "Zero O'Clock"

It's a film about a protagonist able to see the deaths of everyone around him, and no matter what he does he is haunted by knowing this knowledge. It's a mystery/thriller, so we all agreed to go with our free movie passes today.

I was getting ready in my room already dressed. I tried making sure everything was done before I left so I started going over everything in my head.

"Let's see, clean room, do dishes....I haven't watered the flowers yet." I looked over to my right seeing the two pots on my desk, and ponder.

Both flowers were watered, but one was noticeably withering and the latter blooming beautifully. I was slowly getting close to deciding which one to choose, it would still take me a while before I did.

My dad and Chris would drop me off and while we saw that film they would go to view a Paw Patrol movie showing in the cinemas.

I got my coat and went outside to meet them. They were already in the car so once I entered the passenger seat we left to head to the Theatre.

On the way there we stopped to get some Burgers since Cinema food is really expensive. We may or may not sneak in food, but as long as our stomachs are full and we still have money than I'm okay with it.

I call someone while we're in the driveway.

"Hey Beautiful! What can I do for you?" The boy asked.

I rolled my eyes playfully and stifled my laughter.

"Hi Dante. I'm at Chew and Swallow. Do you want anything?" I asked as we are about to order.

"Nope I'm good. I am on a diet." He said confidently.

"What do you mean you're on a diet?! You love food!" I told him, stunned he would even considering doing one at our age.

"Need to stay fit, I'll just order some popcorn and I'm good."

"Well I'm not, I'm just going to get you a grilled cheese sandwich. I'll see you later!" Before he could say anything I hung up and told my dad to order a few things for my friends as well.

Once we were at the cinema, my dad dropped my off at the front while he and Chris looked for a parking. I entered the building with the giant bag holding my "necessities" and looked around to see where everyone was.

I managed to spot a familiar set of faces near the arcade, so slowly I approached them from behind watching them attentively. The two boys were playing the basketball game so I stayed quiet as it seems they were versing.

"Okay, hows this? If I win you have to ask Irene out. This will finally give you a reason to ask her out after months of chickening out." Dante smirked while continuing to shoot hoops.

Andrew looks panicked but quickly covers it up with a calm expression.

"Fine. But if I get a higher score you have to get Kiara to go with you to visit your parents."

Taken aback at the mention of my own name, and I watched quietly trying to remain as silent as possible. He stopped for a moment to think about it before looking back at him.

"Deal."

Due to their height and ignorance to their surrounding, they didn't notice me. So I watched from behind and observed the game.

Considering Dante plays basketball, Andrew managed to do pretty well that towards the end they still had similar scores. 20-21 so far with Dante leading, I could see the latter starting to get nervous but he managed to continue to shoot baskets.

To my shock, Andrew had won.

"Hah!" He squealed in delight jumping up and down while Dante stared afar with his eyes glazed and his hands fidgeting.

Andrew looked back up at him and gave him a pitiful look.

"Come on dude, you know it has to be done. They don't even know abo-Hey!"

It's only now that the two notice my presence and their eyes are widened as if they've seen a ghost.

"H-H-How long have you been here Ki?" Andrew questioned while Dante stood there stunned.

"Basically long enough to hear the bet you made. And that included both my best friend and myself..." I smiled innocently at them.

Dante steps towards me and I cross my arms giving a neutral expression.

"You don't mind do you?"

I shake my head and give him a small smile, "No, not at all. It'll be fun! Want to go meet the others now?" I asked offering my hand to hold.

Beaming brightly Dante takes my hand and leads me to the theatre where in while Andrew previously frozen in his spot — rushes to catch up.

"Wait! You won't tell her about this will you?" He asked nervously.

I glanced at him seeing him so awkward and nervous. Sighing, I take a deep breath and shake my head.

"Not if you don't want me to." I told him truthfully, although it felt wrong.

He gives a sigh of relief before giving me a small smile.

"Thanks Ki..."

"No problem. But you shouldn't worry, she probably feels the same way. Just waiting for you to ask her." I blurted out unintentionally.

Without hearing a response from him Dante drags me to a seat inside theatre 8 and I'm a little surprised we're not sitting with everyone else.

"Why are they sitting separately?" I asked while looking and seeing we were sitting in pairs of two.

Dante shrugged his shoulders and gestured for me to sit first.

"I guess we just did, of course I'm sure you don't mind though. You adore me!" He said confidently.

I lightly nudged his elbow and sat down making myself comfortable.

"Oh! I almost forgot. Here." I rummage through my bag before finding the sandwich and passing it to Dante.

"I'm not liking this diet thing you're talking about, so eat what I bought for you and we'll share the popcorn..." I exclaimed to him quietly as he I slowly took the bag away from his lap and put it onto mine.

He nod vigorously and slowly started eating everything.

I stare at him while eating, and for a moment I get a glimmer of longing for something in his eyes. A glimpse of something he's keeping from me.

Seeing that the movie's about to start, I turn away before removing the arm rest between us and lean on his shoulder.

"You don't mind, do you?" I told him hoping he won't push me away.

I heard his heart beating faster as he answered.

"Nope."

I smiled softly before turning my attention towards the screen and watching the movie.

I tried to listen to the movie, but within myself I could hear my own heart beating rapidly.

I want him to feel opened to telling me anything, just like he is to me. But I have to understand, how can he trust me to ease his pain if I can't trust myself to do the same for me?
