April 18th, 2019...
Today I had a few assignments to finish before leaving early today. Mrs. Greenwood had asked me and my mom to accompany Dante to his physiotherapy session for his leg since she couldn't make it. Of course, I said yes, the only problem was that I had a lot of work for school due tomorrow—so I had to get a head start on it now.
Would it be too awkward for me to tag-along? He was supposed to go to a medical centre nearby.
I shrug the idea off and consider it not that big of a deal before packing up my business books in Geography.
My parents has signed me out early considering I had finished all my work early today and that they're aware of what was asked of them. I was due to get a mandatory vaccine around the same time anyway, so it wouldn't be that I was skipping class just to accompany him. Us both going to the same place saves gas!
I walk down the empty halls and make it to my locker on the second floor. Looking both left and right to see if anyone is nearby, I pack up my things and put on my light cardigan before going to catch up to Dante.
"He should be having English now, this elevator would be the closest to his class."
I muttered to myself softly."Kiara?"
My head perks up and I smile seeing Dante before me, his head tilted in confusion.
"What are you doing here? Don't you have class? You're not sick are you?!" He immediately rushed to me wobbly on his crutches and puts his hand atop of my forehead to check my temperature.
Slowly I reach for his hand and pull it down, shaking my head at him.
"Nope. I'm not, Mrs. Greenwood asked me to come with you and my mom to your check-up. You don't mind do you?" I asked, hoping deep down I'm not intruding.
He grins at me pushing the button on the elevator.
"Not at all. You make great company."
I try to hide my amusement but I fail miserably as I feel my face hurting from being too expressive during the whole day. A whirlwind of emotions with all my school work.
My mom was already at the front of the school so once Dante and I signed out we headed outside.
"You're not allowed in the passenger seat right? You should sit in the back where it's more safe." I told him truthfully.
Baffled, he remarks my comment. "What are you talking about? I should sit in the passenger seat because there's more space."
"There's plenty of space in the back when no one is beside you, prop your leg up or something." I give him a stern look.
"Oh please, like I could stretch my bad leg enough to lay down straight on the car seats." He said
Just as I'm about to counterattack, the car horn honks and we both turn our heads.
"Both of you get in the back! You two are in high school but acting like little children." My mom said overhearing our conversation with the windows opened.
Flustered, none of us complained and we quickly got into the vehicle to head to the doctor's.
We stay quiet for most of the ride, until my mom decides to break the silence and speaks up.
"So, Dante...I heard you're going to the school dance this year with Kiara." She said in a calm manner.
My eyes widen and I start choking on the air. Isn't this the conversation that should be coming from dad?!
