13: Breakup

Elizabeth POV
What...a-a gang? I don't even understand are they lying?

"Is this a sick joke?" I said looking around at everyone I needed to know the answer.

"It is true Ms Elizabeth," said Escanor. I couldn't help but stand up and leave. I needed fresh air to process this.

"Elizabeth wait!" It was Meliodas that called for me. I continued to walk out of the door. I- I don't understand! How can I fall in love with a murderer?! Why would any of them do such horrible things and play it off as the nice guys! I don't want this joke anymore if I'm helping take innocent peoples lives.

I fell to my knees crying in my hands. So they really are the wanted criminals people have been talking about. They are the reason I'm afraid to walk outside at night. I feared every day my small apartment being robbed because of them! I then felt a hand on my shoulder and flinched.

"Get away from me how could you!"

"Elizabeth please."

"Please what?! You don't love me you only wanted to get into my pants and you did feel happy and accomplished now?" He took a step back like I asked.

"No I'm not happy. Elizabeth I never meant to hurt you I want you to be happy and feel safe. I can love you Elizabeth!"

"I never felt safe because of what you people did. All I would hear on the news was people being murdered left and right and houses being stolen from. I used to think that one day it would be my house next. The only reason I moved here was to feel safe away from my father." My tears falling uncontrollably at this point. I'll never be safe will I?

"I can change Elizabeth. I will change for you! I'll protect you!"

"Why? Why do you want me so bad!"

"Because you remind me of my mother." He said. I suddenly felt a change in atmosphere. He was looking down and away. I sniffled and looked at him with red puffy eyes.

"W-What?" I stuttered.

"My mother passed away when I was a kid. It's been so long I always can't even remember what she looks like...." he broke down tears falling from his eyes. What? He, a killer can cry?

"And I don't know why but you remind me how kind and happy, sweet and loving she was. Every time you speak I see my mother and I just can't help but feel so happy. I haven't been happy in such a long time." I turned away from me not wanting to cry in front of me. I felt sad for him and just wanted to hug him. But I couldn't. Nothing can excuse killing innocent people.

"I'm sorry about your mother Meliodas. I lost mine too but I can't excuse you for being a murder I'm sorry." I stood up and walked away. Where was I going I don't know. I could probably find my way back to my apartment some how.

"Elizabeth please! Give me a second chance I can change!"

"Enough! Your lucky I don't turn you in." I said then ran off. Another man hurt me. I knew I couldn't trust anyone. Men are all the same. Selfish pigs.

Meliodas POV
"Fuck! Fuck fuck fuck!" I felt my body drop to my knees and my head in my hands. She's gone! I BLEW IT AND SHES GONE!

"AHHHHH!" I screamed out of anger. Tears were coming down my face so fast I could barely breathe. I was hysterical, kicking my legs while lying on my back and screaming like a child.
"No no no no." I held my head rolling around in the grass. All I wanted was my mommy to hold me and kiss me then tell me everything was gonna be alright.

"Jesus. The fuck are you doing? Your gonna let her run away in the dark like that? Get your ass up and go get your girl!" I looked up to see Ban standing outside and everyone else looking at my through the window.

"She doesn't want me anymore Ban." I continued to lay on the cold grass.

"This isn't the Meliodas I know. You told her you would protect her. So get your ass up and go get her!"

He doesn't get it. She doesn't want that! If she wanted me to protect her she would stay. Right? I don't know! She could be anywhere right now. wait what if someone is out there that can hurt her? There are all kind of thugs out here at night. Shit! I stood up quick and looked at Ban wondering what to do next my emotions still confused and my eyes still puffy red.

"Go!" He yelled.

I nodded then ran straight to my car. I'm coming Elizabeth!

Ban POV
I watched him run off to his car and he was gone. I've never seen the captain act like that in my life. He full on through a temper tantrum. I walked back into the house and looked at everyone. Diane feeling bad that she had stirred the pot with the captain. King was taking blame for this as well.

"This is no ones fault guys. I've never seen the captain act like that before and to be honest it scared me a little bit. But we all have to be there for him. So stop blaming yourselves okay." I then felt my woman by my side hugging me. I couldn't help but smile down at her.

"Your such a good friend to Meliodas." She said and laid her head on me.

"Have to be. He's been there for me at my darkest times. I don't know what I would do with out him so that's why we all have to be by his side through all of this. Even if it means we all end up going to jail."

Elizabeth POV
It's really cold and dark out here. I'm not sure where I am either. My phone is dead so if I needed 911 I guess I'm screwed. I was walking towards the main road hoping to find out where I was. I'm still so shocked that the man I thought might actually be my future husband or even father of my children is a gang member. I knew I jumped into that relationship to fast. I was dumb and naive.

"Hey little lady. It's a little late for you to be out here all alone," said a strange looking man. Where the hell did he come from?

"Are you lost?" I paused and looked at him. I was desperate to find my home so I decided to talk to him.

"Yes, would you happen to know where birch avenue is?"

"Yeah I do let me show you but first I need a favor." He then out of no where grabbed my arm and pulled me.

"Hey! What are you doing let go!" I screamed. He grabbed my ass hard and I kicked and screamed for help. I don't know why but I was so scared I screamed for him hoping he would hear me.

"MELIODAS!"
