Dear D,
Oh well, I skipped yesterday because I need not less than two pages to tell you about Muhammad, how I met him. Just sit back, and enjoy. Oh, you can't even sit ;)!I had just completed my final exams in secondary school, and I went to spend some time at my cousins, 'cause they always spent their holidays at my house, and I had never returned the favor.
On one occasion, Muhammad's family came visiting. His parents, his older brother and him. Unfortunately for me, I thought it was Faridah, my eldest cousin and I just opened the door, not even properly dressed, with all my hair in the outside, like my sister would say.
It was Muhammad I saw first, and I almost fainted. I slammed the door right back on his face, and took a U-turn back into the house. I went into my room, and pretended to sleep.
I didn't see him again, until I was already in the University. The first time we met each other, he was the one that shouted my name. I'm like, what? Me? I know my name isn't common, but actually, me? And so I just smiled and said hi, very much confused. And then he just had to remind me about that day!! And what was he doing?? Laughing, smh.
Needles to say, I was EMBARRASSED. I looked away, rolled my eyes and just told him I had to go, thinking that was the end, but fate won't have it that way. Two days later, I saw him, AGAIN! Where? At my faculty. Why? He was borrowing a course. For what reason? Just how? And then, somehow, we had lunch together.
And yes, we have been friends since that day.At first, Zaynab wouldn't stop bugging me about who he is, and I had to make it clear that he's just my friend, and we are way out of each other's league, I mean, he doesn't even READ? I can't even imagine myself having any kind of romantic feelings towards someone that doesn't read books! Oh, except school books, and criminal whatever. Well, he actually reads now, but just a little! Remember? He narrated that book at the event to me. And no, thank you, that doesn't mean now I like him. And I don't play PS games, which is a very important for whoever is to be Muhammed's future partner.
However, she wouldn't listen to me until sometime in my 2nd year, when Muhammad finally got a "playing ps lady", however, the relationship ended after about 3 weeks. Muhammad said he was wrong about her IQ, as she was quite dumb, and he couldn't imagine he tried to be with her. I don't think she's dumb, I actually don't think anybody is that dumb, maybe she wasn't just exposed.
But Alhamdulilah! Zaynab finally stopped bugging me about him, and it seemed everyone else too understood at that point that we were only good friends.
We have fought a couple of times. In fact, when we had just became friends, all we could do was fight. We would argue, and argue, go days without talking and then find a way to talk to each other again. We spoke about it once, and the only major fight we had since then, I cannot even begin to narrate it to you.
I think Muhammad is a really good person, even though sometimes he thinks he's not. He makes mistakes, but everybody does too! He's not very nice, actually, but he's polite and patient. When it comes to religion, aye, it's obvious that he's from Ilorin! He has the whole Qur'an on his head, and he almost always corrects me when I recite in his presence.
Well, I don't have more space, and I actually need to go now, or else, I'd start with the 3rd page!
