Thirty-fourth Chapter

Ilang araw na after ng paguusap ko kila tito Blake at Mr. Escalante. I couldn't help but think about how far have I gotten myself into.

Lumakas ang hangin dahilan para maging magulo ang buhok ko. Andito kasi ako ngayon sa isang bay. Mag-isa at nakatingin lang sa tubig, iniinda ang lamig. 

"You'd catch a cold, Beanie Girl."

Gulat akong tumingala. "S-Spade?" He put his jacket over me. "Where have you been? Ang tagal mong nawala."

Umupo siya sa tabi ko at inakbayan ako bago bigyan ng halik sa noo. "I had to take care of some things." Marahan niyang sinusuklay yung buhok ko. "Missed me?"

I rolled my eyes. "At kung oo, ano gagawin mo?"

He chuckled. "Missed ya too, Beanie Girl." He sighed. "I heard everything, and I want to say 'thank you' for rescuing Daemon."

Tumingala ako para makita ko mukha niya. "You don't have to thank me, Spade. Master Daemond was nothing but a real nice guy to me and Aliyah. Lahat kayo, actually, mababait sa'min."

"Yeah," he grunted. "But I'm the kindest."

"Oh, hambog."

He smirked. "Seriously, Sweetheart, you saved that brat, and despite how we interacted back then, those fvckers are still my buds since childhood. And I'm saying this for each of us, but we are more than willing to help each other's out at any time, any where."

I smiled and nodded. "I know. Kay Aerth pa lang eh."

"Except for that man-whore."

Natawa ako. "Sus!" I held his face. "Fine. You're welcome, Bryce... the Vice President." Akala ko magugulat siya na alam ko na, pero instead na magulat siya, ako ang nagulat ng bigla siyang ngumisi!

"Congratulations, Adria." Nag-iba ang tono ng boses niya. Mas naging seryoso, mas naging... malamig. "You'd finished learning about the history."

Bigla siyang tumayo.

"Bry --"

"Wanna come?"

"Eh?"

"Our first project together."

Kumunot-noo ako. "Project?"

Tumango siya. "End the emcee's and those shitty-assholes' lives."

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. "You know about..."

Kinindatan niya ako. "Told ya I heard everything." Nganga ako ng bigla niyang ilahad ang kamay niya. "So? You in Sergeant?"

I licked my lip before biting it down as I took his hand. "It'd be a pleasure, VP."

"We took care of them, Dan." I brushed my fingertips on Aidan's name on the gravestone. "Those who tried to harm Aliyah are now gone."

Tinanggal ko ang dahon na nalipad sa pangalan niya.

"You know, Dan, hindi ko akalain na hahantong ako sa ganto... na kikitil ako ng mga buhay... at naeenjoy ko pa." I bit my lower lip. "Ewan ko ba Dan.." I looked up to stop my tears from falling but failed. "Natutuwa na kong pumatay ngayon.." 

I started sobbing.

"I know that they weren't innocent but killing is killing no matter how much you look at it." I sniffed. "Pero wala akong pinagsisisihan, Dan. Kahit na masamang tao na ako dahil I took and will continue to take those kind of people's lives, hindi ako makadama ng kamalian sa ginagawa ko... and that scares me, Aidan."
