Nineteenth Chapter

"Oh, little girl, what a nice surprise — oooh, your face registers trouble," she clicked her tongue. "What did I do now?" She asked herself before pointing a finger to her face. "Oh yes, you. It always been you, Niets. That's why everyone keeps on looking for you because you always do something to people around you! Gosh! When are you going to learn?"

Nakatingin lang ako sa kanya habang slight na nakanganga.

Anong... meron...?

Tumingin sa'kin si Doctora Niets Neknarf. "Okay na ba 'yun, Maiah? Did I hit the right words na sasabihin mo sana sa'kin? Alam mo naman, ayaw kong mag-aksaya ka pa ng laway kung pwede namang ako na lang ang mag-aksaya for you." She winked.

"Doctora," napabuntong-hininga ako. "P-Pwede po ba munang maupo?"

Nagulat siya at inayos ang upuan na harap ng desk niya. Pinagpag pa niya ang sandalan nito. "Sorry, where are my manners? Come, sit, and let's have a talk, little girl." She rounded her desk and settled down on her office chair. "Now, what are we gonna talk about, hm? I mean, we can talk about a lot of things —"

"Why did you lie to me?" I cut her. "Bakit po kayo nagsinungaling about kay Mama?"

Her right eyebrow rose up bago siya ngumiti ng nakakaloka. "I never lied to you, Maiah Adria. What I told you about your mom was all true. I may be crazy but I don't lie, especially to those people that are connected to Doctor Xian Rafael."

Natigilan ako ng saglit. "Kung totoo nga po 'yang sinasabi niyo —"

"Oh yes, it's true."

"Okay, then, kung hindi po kayo ang nagsinungaling, then isa kila mama Violet at Sylvester Travis."

"At bakit mo nasabi na isa sa kanila ang nag-lie to you?" She asked meaningfully.

"Dahil..." napalunok ako. "Call me crazy, Doctora, pero nung na-ospital ako dahil sa pagiging si mama, which I think you already knew." She nodded then gestured her hand for me to continue. "Nag-agaw-buhay ako at 'yung mga pinagusapan namin ni mama noon at ni Sylvester ay paulit-ulit na nagpe-play sa utak ko."

Hindi na kailangang malaman ni Doctora ang about kay Aidan.

"Hmm," she leaned back her chair and shrugged. "So? Now that you've seem to thought about what you are thinking right now, what do you want to do?"

Huminga ako ng malalim. "Gusto ko po ulit makausap si mama."

"At bakit?"

"Dahil kailangan kong malaman kung bakit iba ang timeline ng pagbubuntis niya na sinabi niya sa'kin at sa sinabi sa'kin ni Sylvester."

"Hahaha!" Tawa niya bigla bago tumingin sa'kin. "Okay, continue. And? I know you want to tell me more. Go on."

Kinagat ko ang pang-ibabang labi ko. Paano niya nalaman na there's more? Pambihira talaga ang doctorang ito.

"G-Gusto ko ding malaman kung bakit... bakit hindi ako nilulubayan ng kutob ko na..."

"Naaaa? Come on, Maiah! Don't leave me hanging."

"Na parang hindi totoong baliw si mama Violet."

Her mouth formed an "O" after hearing what I just said. Then she suddenly stood up. "Who's with you?"

"Ho?"

"Who brought you here?"

"Si Kieran po. Bakit?" I asked while watching her gather her stuffs.

"Tell him to go home and I'll just drop you off." Nilabas na niya 'yung car keys niya at hinila ang aking kamay. "Let's go. He's outside right?" Lumabas na kami at agad tumayo si Kieran sa kinauupuan niya.
