"The Underground City is a safe place below the grounds that was built in the early days when the walls were not up yet.

Surely after the walls were built, many civilians moved to the surface after paying for a citizenship card. Only the poor were left behind where many of them will never see the sunlight or the surface world."

Is what my mom told me.

-

I sat swinging on an old swing as two men approached me.

"Little girl." I smelt a smidge of alcohol as one of them opened their mouth. "Where's your house?"

I stared up at them, puzzled.

"We're your parents' old buddies. We came to say hello."

I got off my swing and pointed to the far distance. "That way." I said as I guided them.

The trip was not long and I stopped to point at the house when we arrived.

"It is her-" I turned around to see nobody. I shrugged it off and entered the building. "I'm home!" I said.

"(Y/n)." Mom called. "Dinner's ready."

I sat down at the dinner table to a plate of dandelions. My face fell. Noticing my expression, mom slammed her hands on the table, making a...

CLANG.

"What did I say about being picky!" She scolded.

For the past month, it's been nothing but dandelions. I've grown so sick of it that it's become hard to swallow.

As the night deepens, I heard a noise outside as I sit by the open window and fell asleep. Soon, morning came.

"Mom?" I called as I knocked on her door. "I feel sick."

"...."

"Mom." I called again.

The eerie silence and the absence of my mom's breathing gave me goosebumps as I stood on tiptoes to turn the doorknob. Taking a peek, the room was empty.

That was the last that I've seen of them.

Alone in the house, I sat waiting at the doorsteps as days turns into weeks and now almost a month. My body lay at the doorsteps, wasting away each day.

'This is how I die.'

Or so I had thought until he came.

"Oi."

....

"Tch."

And I was picked up as my new life living with this boy named, Levi, began. Soon enough comes Farlan, which then proceeds with Isabel. With the four of us, everyday became enjoyable. Isabel, the older sister, was always fun to be with. We would always play little pranks. Farlan, the older brother, was always there to help me. He was a nice type of person. And Levi...what was Levi? Oh, he holds a special place in my heart. Plus, he always protects me from old men.

I thought that these days would always be here, until....

"I finally found you."
