ALTHEA felt as if she had been doused with cold water upon seeing the person who had caused her so much pain—the man who had given her a reason to be strong, the man she loved, but also the man who had left her.
She couldn't utter a single word, nor could she move. The smiles on her lips were slowly replaced by shock, and the ice cream she was holding fell to the ground.
Seeing Blake in front of her brought back all the hurt—the days he had hurt her, the days she had forced herself to love someone who didn't love her back, the days she fought to hold on, and the day she finally left.
'Bloody hell, Blaze' she thought suddenly.
Without hesitation, she ran toward her son.
What if he saw him? What if he found out that Blaze was his child? So many questions flooded her mind.
She didn't want to keep this from him, but not now. She wasn't ready.
"Hon, alis na tayo," she said as she picked up Blaze. "Baby, alis na tayo. Okay?" Blaze simply nodded in response.
"Hon, you go ahead. Blake and I just need to talk for a moment," Kayzer said to Althea, protesting what she had overheard, but Kayzer gave her a sweet smile, reassuring her that everything would be okay. Even though she didn't want to leave him, she had no choice, so she gave him a quick kiss on the lips.
"I'll wait for you in the car," she whispered softly before walking away, unable to look at Blake as she left sabay dala din ni Leigh.
Blake's jaw clenched when he saw Althea kiss Kayzer. He wanted to rip the neck of that bastard, but he needed to control himself, he felt like he would explode in front of them. It hurt him deeply that she couldn't even look at him. He wanted to yell at her, but he remembered he had no right to.
As she passed him, he wanted to chase after her, to hug her, to smell her perfume, to feel her soft lips... everything. But all he could do was let out a heavy sigh.
Once Althea was gone, he grabbed Kayzer by the collar and glared at him. He had trusted this man, asking for his help to find Althea, only to have him take her away.
"Do you even know what you're doing?!"
Kayzer remained silent, allowing Blake to vent his anger, but he better not say he would take Althea away from him, or they would have a serious problem.
"Kayzer. Answer me!" Blake demanded.
Instead of responding, Kayzer removed Blake's hands from his collar.
"What do you want to know?" he asked calmly.
Blake's fists clenched, and he punched Kayzer in the face.
'What a fool!' Blake thought angrily.
"I trusted you, Zer, but what have you done? You broke it for fuck's sake," he said, filled with pain. Yes, it was true he was hurt by what had happened, but he was even more hurt by his current situation. Blake was pulling at his hair, feeling weak, and he knelt down. "YOU KNOW, ZER, HOW I LOVE HER!"
"Damn it!" Kayzer shouted, punching Blake back, causing him to stumble. Kayzer grabbed Blake by the shoulders to steady him. "You love her? Fuck you, Blake! If you loved her, why did you leave? Why did you leave her? Answer me! Is that your idea of love? Sorry to tell you, but that's not love, that's guilt! You're a fool!"
"I regret it, and you know that!" Blake shouted back.
"But it's too late!"
"No... no... I still have a chance. Yes—YES," he convinced himself, even though he knew it was unlikely, but he wouldn't give up.
"Sorry, Blake, but she's mine now, and no one can take her away from me. Not even you."
"No, no matter what. I'll get her, Zer... she's mine, and she will always be mine."
