Althea POV
I WAS just staring at the food in front of me. I sighed heavily.
"Eat." Blake offered, but I didn't even glance at him. I was angry with him. I didn't want to see him because of his involvement in the kidnapping.
"Althea... eat."
I could hear the irritation in his voice, but I didn't care about what he felt. I bit my lip. How was my child doing? Had he eaten? Had he taken his medicine? I needed to escape from here, I might die from missing my child. I sensed Blake approaching presence beside me, so I wasn't surprised when he suddenly offered me a spoonful of food... but I still didn't open my mouth.
"Eat, Althea. You haven't eaten since yesterday."
The truth was, I was really hungry. I became hungrier as I smelled the delicious aroma of the food. I swallowed hard. I wanted to open my mouth and savor the taste, but my pride took precedence.
"Are you going to eat it, or should I eat you?"
Faster than a clock strikes four, I lifted my gaze to him. His blue eyes were firmly staring at me.
"Have you lost your mind, Blake!?"
He just grinned at me. Wow!! He had time to smile! I opened my mouth to speak, but he quickly shoved the spoon into my mouth. I immediately tasted the mix of flavors from the food and rice. I glared at him.
"Don't talk... just eat."
I chewed slowly. As soon as I tasted it, my hunger intensified. I opened my mouth wide and eagerly took the food he offered me. I was really starving.
I shot him an angry look, but he just smiled back. 'If only I wasn't so hungry,' I muttered softly in my mind.
He became my feeder for every spoonful he offered me. He was just staring at me while I stared back at him. If you think about it, this situation looked like we were a happy couple if you looked closely. If he had acted like this before, I'd probably be smiling widely and feeling on top of the world. But things were different now.
"What are you thinking about?"
I returned to reality when Blake spoke. I didn't realize that I had been staring at him until I quickly looked away. I heard him sigh and offer me another spoonful, which I promptly accepted.
"If you're worried about Blaze, don't be because he's okay."
"Huh? You talked to him?"
"I called him earlier."
"How is he? Did he take his medicine? Is he eating well?" I bombarded him with questions.
"Yes, he's fine."
I felt like I could finally breathe after hearing his words. Even just a few words were enough to make me happy knowing that he was okay.
"Don't think too much about your child because I will bring him here."
I furrowed my brow at what he said. "You're bringing Blaze here?" I asked coldly. He just nodded.
I gritted my teeth. He must be out of his mind. What!? He was going to involve his child in his madness!? I wouldn't allow it!
"I won't allow it, Blake!"
He frowned. "Why don't you want to, Althea? Don't you want Blaze to know that I'm his father? Or don't you want him to recognize me as his father?"
"Blake... I accept that you kidnapped me... but please don't involve my child in your insanity!"
"Althea, I just want to build our family."
I laughed sarcastically. "Family? Blake, we don't have a family. Nothing can be built because we've been broken for a long time!"
He immediately froze at my words. I saw the sadness and pain pass through his eyes. I'm sorry, Blake, but I don't want to go back to you.
He stood up violently and left. I sighed heavily and looked in the direction where Blake had gone.
"I'm sorry, Blake. Even though I want to go back to how we used to be, this is really the end of our story. The day you left us was the day everything ended."
I washed the dishes we had used myself. It had been several minutes since I last saw Blake... I didn't know where he was, but I didn't bother looking for him, he was probably just getting some fresh air.
I thought about going back to the room where I first woke up. When I opened the door, I scanned the area to make sure Blake wasn't there until my gaze landed on a table near the bed. I almost jumped for joy when I saw a cellphone. I hurried inside and went straight to the table.
I quickly turned it on and was relieved to find that there was no password. Without hesitation, I dialed Kayzer number. After just a few rings, he answered immediately.
"Hello?" I closed my eyes upon hearing his voice again... hearing it felt like a breath of hope. "Who is this?"
"Ka... Kayzer."
"Althea!?" His voice was filled with shock. "Hey! Where are you? Are you okay!? Are they hurting you!? Hey!! Please talk!"
I smiled when I heard his rapid-fire questions. "I'm okay."
"Thank God!"
"Kay...zer. Please help me. Blake___"
He cut me off.
"Blake!? I knew it! Where are you!?"
I stood up and peeked out the window. Earlier, I hadn't appreciated the beauty of the sea. Its blue waters mirrored the sky. It was beautiful... like a paradise.
"I don't know, Kayzer. All I can see is the vast ocean, and I'm sure we're on an island."
"Fuck! I knew he was the one who kidnapped you. Don't worry, we will find you, okay?" His voice was calm but filled with concern for me. "I love you."
I smiled, "I love you too___"
But I couldn't finish what I was about to say when someone suddenly snatched the cellphone from my hand. I jumped as he threw it against the wall, shattering it.
Nervously, I stared at the one who threw it, and Blake furious eyes met mine. For some inexplicable reason, fear gradually crept into my heart—like the fear of marrying him again, fear that he might hurt me again, fear of feeling his violation once more.
"B... Blake," I could hardly say his name because I was trembling with fear.
He slowly approached me, causing me to retreat further back. Tears streamed down my face... I knew what this expression meant. I knew all too well because I was the first one to experience his wrath now, and I was terrified.
"B... Blake. So... so... sorry," I whispered as my palms rose defensively in front of my chest.
But it seemed he didn't hear me because he continued approaching until I sat down on the bed in fear. Trembling with terror, I backed against the headboard and squeezed into it. I was scared of him—his piercing eyes, his grin, this tension between us it felt like dark smoke surrounded him—and I knew it was bad.
I screamed as he suddenly grabbed my leg and pinned me down. My heart raced even faster—please... no! But my fears were confirmed when he suddenly ripped my shirt open, revealing my chest to him. I saw how desire blossomed within him.
"Blake, please... don't! I'm begging you, B... Blake! I'm so so... sor__"
Once again, my words were cut off when he suddenly choked me. I struggled to pry his hands from my neck, but no matter how hard I tried, they wouldn't budge. Breathing became increasingly difficult.
This was how he treated me—this is what he did to me—he hurt me. It's hard to believe this would happen again.... desperately trying to avoid this aura from him because it felt like any moment now he could kill me.
"If you can't belong to me again... then it's better if I take your breath away."
