Althea POV
I WOKE up with a throbbing headache so intense that I wanted to bang my head against something. I hadn't even been drinking to have a hangover, so why did my head hurt this much?
Slowly, I leaned back against the headboard of the bed with my eyes closed. I pressed my hands to my head as it throbbed again. Ugh... what's wrong with me... I just want to hit my head!
I cautiously opened my eyes, but I was surprised to find that this wasn't my room. Where am I? I was about to get up when I suddenly stopped, remembering what had happened to me.
I bought medicine for Blaze, and just as I was about to return, a black van suddenly blocked my way and... and... Shit! I was kidnapped!
I jumped up faster than a clock striking four, even though my head still hurt. I scanned my surroundings. The walls were blue with black accents. There were items scattered around that you wouldn't want to touch because you knew they were worth more than your life. There were three doors, and I was sure one of them led to the bathroom.
I slowly stepped toward the door, but I was dismayed to find it locked. Who kidnapped me? Who is that idiot!? I looked around again and quickly ran to the window. My lips parted in shock when I saw the vast ocean. Shit! Where am I!?
I sat down on the floor with my forehead resting against the wall. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know who had kidnapped me. I didn't know what their intentions were—or his?
KLINK KLINK
I turned at the sound of the door lock moving. I quickly ran to meet whoever was trying to enter the room. The door slowly opened. But I froze when I saw who it was.
"Blake?"
I asked in confusion. Why is he here? What is he doing here? Was he kidnapped too?
"Althea, I'm glad you're awake," he said with a smile.
"Blake? Answer me seriously. Did you kidnap me?" I asked seriously. But he just smiled at me and slowly stepped closer in my direction. I wanted to fight against every step he took, but my feet were moving back on their own.
"Blake! I'm asking you!!?"
"What if yes?"
I gasped in shock. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Maybe I just misheard him.
"What did you say?"
"Yes, Althea. I am the mastermind behind your abduction."
"Wha... why?" I asked absentmindedly as I continued to back away from him. With every step he took toward me, I took a step back.
"What do you think, Althea? Am I going to let you go to that man? Am I going to allow him to possess you? Am I going to let him hold you? Am I going to let you kiss him? Am I going to let him be Blaze father? Or maybe, am I going to let him be your husband!!?? Huh!"
I jumped at his sudden shout. I wanted to say more when I felt the edge of the bed behind me. Shit! My throbbing head turned to look back, and indeed, it was at the edge of the bed. Just as I was about to turn back to Blake, he suddenly pushed me onto the bed, causing me to scream.
"Blake!" I shrieked as he immediately pinned me down. He placed both arms on either side of my head and stared at me intensely.
I gazed into his eyes. His emotions were unreadable—pain, anger, happiness.
"I will never allow it, Althea. I will not allow you to be taken by Kayzer because you are mine! You are only mine!" he declared before leaving.
It felt like a weight had been lifted off my chest because of that moment. I didn't realize that tears were slowly streaming down my face. I didn't know him anymore. The Blake that I once loved was gone. He seemed different now... so obsessed. He said he loved me, but there was no love in his eyes... all I saw was an obsession.
Where is the old Blake? The one whom I loved? The one who adored me? The one who didn't accept me as his woman? The one who didn't love me? The one who saw me as trash? I'd prefer that kind of view from him over this suffocating feeling now... he's slowly killing me.
I promised him I'd leave... that I'd forget him. On the day I signed those divorce papers, I promised myself that I'd never fall for Blake Ion Zaldivar again. But what is this? It feels like the world has turned upside down and I don't like it.
