ALTHEA stood with her head bowed, biting her lip. All the blood rushed to her cheeks from the embarrassment she felt earlier. They had been interrupted by one of the company sponsors. Shit! She stole glances at Blake, but he showed no signs of embarrassment on his stupid face.

She wanted nothing more than to sink into the ground from shame. She didn't understand why she was standing there when she could have waited outside.

"Okay... It's already a deal?" Blake asked.

"Yes, Mr. Montelfalco," came the reply.

Althea bit her lip again. Surely, she wasn't part of their conversation. But what was she doing here?

"Then it's settled."

They shook hands, and Blake gave Mr. Montelfalco a sweet smile, while he returned only a cold stare.

"I'll be leaving now, Mr. Zaldivar," Montelfalco said, turning his gaze to Althea. "And..."

"Ms. Scoth," she replied.

But she furrowed her brow when he stared at her intently. Mr. Montelfalco appeared to be around thirty-five. He was decent-looking, but not as striking as Blake, whose handsomeness was undeniable.

"Have we met before?" he asked.

"Nope... Mr. Montelfalco, I'm seeing you for the first time."

She felt increasingly uncomfortable under his gaze, as if he were undressing her with his eyes. She noticed he wanted to say something, but when he opened his mouth, no words came out.

She almost screamed when she felt an arm wrap around her waist. She looked at Blake in confusion, but he was glaring at Mr. Montelfalco.

"Do you need something, Mr. Montelfalco?" Blake said through clenched teeth. Montelfalco glanced at the arm around Althea's waist before smiling and turning back to them.

"None... I just remembered something. She seems familiar to me."

"If you don't need anything, you can leave."

"Okay... Okay... Mr. Zaldivar, I won't take your wife. I'll be going now."

He gave them both a smile before turning to leave.

Althea let out a sigh and immediately tried to remove Blake's arm, but he only tightened his grip, pulling her closer to him. She shot him a glare and raised an eyebrow.

"'SIR' Zaldivar? Please let go of me," she said firmly.

"What if I don't want to?"

"What if I want you to let me go?"

"Then, try me."

She was about to respond when her phone suddenly rang. She quickly answered it without looking at the caller ID.

"Hello?" she asked, still trying to pull away from Blake.

"Hon."

She froze upon hearing Kayzer's voice.

"Hon?" she replied nervously.

She felt a wave of anxiety wash over her, as if something bad had happened. Her heart started to race.

"Are you busy right now?"

"No... why?"

"Something bad happened to Blaze."

"What!?"

"Please, she needs you."

Althea looked at Blake, who had released his grip on her arm. He was watching her with a dark expression.

"What happened to him?"

"Go to the hospital... I'll wait for you there."

Weakly, she lowered the phone from her ear. She had no idea what had happened to her child. Ugh...

"I need to go."

She immediately ran toward the exit, but before she could take a few steps, Blake grabbed her arm and pushed her down onto the sofa. She was about to get up when Blake pinned her down.

"Blake!? What are you doing!? I need to go!"

"Where!? To Kayzer!? No!!"

She looked at him in confusion.

"You don't care about that!"

"I do care because I'm your husband."

"You're not my husband!" she shot back.

"Yes, I am."

"Then what you're doing now will show you who really owns you... and that's me, Althea."

He crushed his lips against hers to silence her.
