BLAKE POV
I WAS shocked when I saw Kayzer. I thought he had migrated to another country after living in Paris for four years.
I was about to approach him when someone bumped into me.
"Shit!" I hissed.
I looked up to see a little boy running past me, heading straight for Kayzer. "Daddy!" he exclaimed.
"Daddy? Where's Mommy? I wanna eat ice cream with Leigh," the child said.
My brow furrowed at his words. Daddy? Mommy? So Kayzer had a family now.
I glanced at Kayzer, and I noticed something strange about him—he looked pale.
But why?
Kayzer bent down to meet the boy's gaze, who looked to be around five or six years old. I couldn't see the child's face because he was turned away from me.
"Hmmm... B-baby, go to Mommy first. Tell her to wait for me in the car. Uuwi na tayo," Kayzer instructed gently.
"But Dad, I want to play with Leigh for a while longer!" the boy protested.
Instead of answering the child, Kayzer looked at me, and the boy turned to look at me as well.
When our eyes met, I took a step back, my muscles tensing. My heart raced, and my knees felt weak. I could feel my hands trembling, and I didn't know what was happening, but I wanted to cry.
"Dad, okay ka lang?" Leigh asked me, breaking the silence.
I snapped back to reality, grateful for her interruption. I realized I had been holding my breath.
"Dude, okay ka lang?" Kayzer asked, concerned.
I didn't know if I was okay, but I felt... I couldn't quite explain it.
My breathing was rapid. I looked up and closed my eyes, trying to calm myself. Once I felt a little steadier, I glanced back at Kayzer, deliberately avoiding looking at the child.
"Dad, who is he?" the boy asked again, but I continued to focus on Kayzer.
Fuck! Every time I looked at the child, I felt an overwhelming urge to approach him and hug him tightly. But why?
Kayzer bent down to answer the boy. "Daddy siya ni Leigh."
I noticed the boy studying me from head to toe.
"Ahh... Leigh. Dad mo pala. Cool," he said.
His words made me look in his direction.
Cool? What was cool about this?
But I felt my heart melt. Just a simple word made me smile secretly.
"Cool? Yes, my dad is cool. Right, Dad?" saad naman ng anak ko.
"Look at him! He's wearing formal attire, but..." He paused, glancing at my shoes. "...he's wearing rubber shoes! Hahaha, bagong style!"
I quickly looked down at my shoes. Great. Just great. Yes, I was in business attire, but I was also wearing rubber shoes. Hindi ko na ito napansin dahil sa pagmamadali ko upang hanapin si Leigh.
"Your right, kiddo. Cool," I thought.
I struggled to maintain eye contact with the boy. Every time I looked at him, I felt something strange that words couldn't explain.
He looked like... "Hey, kiddo, what's your name?" I managed to ask the child, despite feeling weak.
"Blaze Kaleb Scot," he replied proudly.
Kayzer seemed to want to stop him, but it was too late.
Scot?
A situation began to form in my mind. This couldn't be possible. Scot? Was he...?
"Ice cream is here!" someone shouted from behind me.
That voice was familiar. I knew who it belonged to.
Slowly, I turned to see where the voice was coming from, and I was right, she was standing right in front of me.
"Althea?" I exclaimed, my heart racing.
