When I woke up next to Hazel I broke into a gigantic grin. It wasn't a dream afterall. Her coming was true afterall!
I squealed, "Oh my God!"
Hazel put her hand over my mouth, "Shhh."
My eyes widened and I spoke fuzzily past her hand, "What?"
"People actually like to sleep past 8:00 a,m., April." She yawned hugely.
"Uh, its twelve in the afternoon, Hazel!"
She shot up, "Oh jeez! What? Its... WHAT?"
"Its-"
"I heard you, April!" She laughed and jumped up, changing into a pair of shorts and a dark purple T-shirt.
I sat up and changed into a pair of my skinny jeans lying across the arm of my rocking chair and tossed on a short floral shirt that showed my pierced belly button. I played with the dangling silver for a second and then slipped on my designer sandals along with Hazel.
"When did you get fancy?" Hazel smiled down at my outfit.
I laughed, "When I got a job."
"You got a job?"
"Yep, I sit at the front desk at the hospital and type on a computer. Its wonderful... wonderfully boring. It pays good though. Good enough to buy designer clothes for myself."
Hazel smiled and we made our way out to the kitchen and ate a bowl a cereal and Hazel's phone began to ring.
"Hello?" She answered it with a mouthful of cereal.
I watched her eyes widen and she spit out her cereal and fixed her hair as if whoever had just spoke to her could see the fly aways that hung around her face.
"Yeah! Sure! We'll be there soon!" She hung up with a big grin on her face.
"Nick?" I took a wild guess.
She grinned, "Yep! He wants us to go to his house and meet up to go to the lake."
"I'm assuming that means we are going to need bathing suits?"
She grinned and we raced to the bedroom and changed into our bathing suits. I hadn't seen Hazel this happy since she was asked out by Nick, taken to prom, first date... okay, I hadn't seen her this happy since she had been with Nick. My goal was getting them back together and I was going to accomplish what I put my mind to.
We raced out of the room barely waving to my mother and got inside my blue saturn car. I put it into drive and pressed the gas petal down, causing dirt to fly out behind the car. I was probably going to get in trouble for that. I raced down the dirt road and when it came to Nick's lane I turned the wheel to the side and drifted left. Hazel screamed out beisde me, but it wasn't a scream of fear. It was a scream of ultimate pleasure. I could hear the gravel coming up behind my car and we drove until we reached a small backroad that led to a secret part of a river only four people knew about. Those four people were Hazel, Nick, Jasper, and I. Jasper being the guy I have been talking to for over six months. We arrived at our little secret hidiing place with Nick already there and wearing nothing but a pair of swim trunks.
"Oh my God." Hazel gasped out a little and her face turned bright red.
I smirked, "I know right?"
She gave me a small look and I saw jealousy spark in her eyes.
"I meant I know what your thinking. Not that... Uh..." I felt my face blushing now.
She smirked, "Its okay. I guess I just sorta still..."
"Have feelings for him?" I chuckled under my breath and we turned our heads as Nick tapped on Hazel's side of the glass.
I rolled down the window and he shined that movie star smile at us and Hazel blushed more.
"So, are you gonna get out or am I gonna have to drag out two very pretty ladies and throw them in a river?" His eyes were sparkling as he looked at Hazel.
Hazel covered her cheeks shyly, "We were coming! We were just talking, Nicholas."
"Your always just talking." He rolled his eyes and I saw the complete laughter hiding in them.
I cleared my throat, "What are the plans?"
"Skinny dipping. If you two are down?"
We stared at him with a sort of gawking surprise before we both broke into a big grin and hopped out of the car, shedding our clothing as we went.
