I sat in my mom's car with pure shock. Joey Bradshaw had been killed. I knew someone had been killed but...
"He was killed. Your sure?" I looked at my mom with terror.
She nodded, "Yes I'm sure, Dear."
I took in a jagged breath, "Mom, I saw that murder... I saw it."
"What?" She nearly stopped.
"I saw it happen... I was using the bathroom and I saw someone stab Joey outside in the bushes and kill him... I saw it..."
She sped up and we got to the station. We hopped out and rushed inside. Hazel sat in a chair outside a room with a sort of worry on her face.
"Oh Dear!" My mom rushed to her and kneeled before her, taking out a small package of towellets and began cleaning the blood off of Hazel's stomach.
"They are interrogating Nick right now."
"Why Nick?" I looked at her in confusion.
"I'm assuming that horrible Agent Jones thinks he may have had something to do with Joey's death."
My eyes widened, "Thats impossible. You and Nick never went outside."
She looked at me slowly, "I did. A rock was thrown from the bushes and Joey ran out to them, but I ran back inside before I could really witness anything. I didn't think anything would happen but a fight with some other drunk guy."
The door opened and my cousin, Garret Boothe, stepped out and stopped immediately with Nick.
He froze, "Hey April."
"Hey. I need to talk to you guys..."
"And we need to talk to you. Come in."
I followed Garret into the room and sat down in the cold metal chair with a fear rising inside of my belly.
"What-"
I interuppted him, "I saw the murder."
His eyes widened, "What??"
"I... I went to the bathroom after having sex with someone and as I was sitting there I saw someone run into the bushes just outside and a person raised some sort of weopen and they began killing the person."
"You didn't tell anyone?" He was looking at me bewildered.
I gulped, "I tried but I tripped and thats all i remember... I woke up on the floor."
Garret looked at me quietly for a minute, "Is that all?"
"Yes..." I gulped.
"Listen, don't be traumitized by all this. There isn't anything you could have done to prevent it."
"I could have not of tripped and told someone. Maybe someone could have saved him."
Garret slid some pictures to me and I squealed out and covered my mouth in fear. Joey lay there with stab wounds in his torso and a slit mark across his neck. The mess was gruesome and whoever did this had to of been a monster.
"I didn't want to show these to you but look. There isn't anything, I mean anything, anyone could have done. Whatever he was stabbed with pierced his heart and he probably died instantly. If not, then the cutting of his throat would have certainly done it."
I felt my eyes water up and I burst into tears. My chest was hurting. Garret stood and hugged me.
"Go home and get some sleep..." He led me to the door and gave me back to my mom.
Mom looked at him, "I hope you catch this person."
"I hope we do too." Garret sighed in a tired sort of way and glanced at Hazel before turning back around and going back inside the interrogation room.
We piled into my moms car and all headed back to my place where I immediately went to bed and Nick and Hazel sat on my couch and talked about whatever happened.
