After the river I followed Hazel's car to her house and Mariah huffed and puffdd the whole way.
"Something wrong?" I finally asked as we parked down the street and exited the vehicle.
She rolled her eyes, "Nope."
"Bullshit." I muttered as I gripped my camera and went through it adjusting it.
"Fine. I'm tired of being the secondhand Hazel while you stalk the firsthand one. I'm tired of being your little helper." She huffed again and stiffened.
I laughed, "Dear Mariah, your not planning on leaving me now are you?"
She looked at me slowly, "Maybe, so what? If I left you can't stop me. I could rat you out."
I stiffened and turned to look at her, "Mariah, do you know what soliders did to other soliders when they abandoned the war?"
"They... Found them and killed them." Fear carried in her voice now.
"Yes. They found them... And they killed them. In this case, you are a solider. If you leave me, Mariah, I will stalk you down, torture you, and shoot you right in the temple. Do you understand me? I will kill you."
"Yes... Sir..." She followed behind me.
I walked up to Hazel's friend's house and walked until I found a her bedroom window. I peeked in and saw April strip down naked and get inside the shower. I smirked and Hazel changed into shorts and a crop top. Man, she looked hot in that black crop top. You could tell she cut it herself. She did a good job on that. I poised the camera and snapped a picture but the flash was set off and I cursed, ducking down.
"April! April!" I heard Hazel yelling for April and my heartbeat was going crazy.
I listened for a moment and when I finally knew she was convinced it was nothing I peeked back up and saw they both were gone.
"Its just weird you know." I heard Hazel mumbling from the front porch.
Mariah and I ducked down and looked around the corner, spotting them as they got into a car and started it, backing away and driving off.
"Where?" I wondered for a second and narrowed my eyes.
"Joey Bradshaw."
"Huh?"
"I heard Nick ask Hazel if she wanted to go to Joey Bradshaw's tonight."
"Must be a party."
"He must host them a lot?"
"Very much a lot. He's king of North Brook High." I rolled my eyes and we got into my car quickly and sped up to follow them.
When I finally reached Joey's house I opened my center console and grabbed out a long kitchen knife, sticking it in the side of my pants.
"And what exactly do you plan on doing with that, Samuel?" Mariah eyed me suspiciously.
"Nothing. Just in case so-"
"In case you get caught so you can commit mass murder? I thought we said no more murdering, Samuel." She interrupted me
"Its just in case, Mariah!" I snapped at her and got out, walking to the bushes.
I watched them for several hours and even got close enough to the house to snap a couple pictures of Hazel and Nick together. Eventually I stopped and dropped my camera.
"What does she think she is doing?" I nearly yelled.
"Probably drunk."
"Shes... Kissing him."
"Obviously. She's drunk, Sam."
"SHES NOT SUPPOSE TO BE KISSING HIM! NO!"
"You gonna barge in there and stop em?" She texted casually on her phone and eventually I calmed down and picked my camera up.
I snapped another picture and watched as Hazel made her way outside alone. Nick must of wandered off. I walked behind the bushes until I reached the back yard and I saw Joey grasping her wrist. By the look on her face he was hurting her. I picked up the biggest stone and threw it, hitting the mark perfectly.
"Smooth move, idiot." I heard Mariah whisper as Joey made his way down to us.
I cursed and as Joey reached me I pulled out my knife and jumped out as soon as he got near me. I laid down my weapon with force and it pierced his sternum, blood splattering all over my front and I smiled with satisfaction. I kept piercing him, twice in the left lung, three times in the stomach, and once in the heart. After he was lying on the ground and barely breathing I looked him dead in the eyes and slit his throat slowly, listening to the gurgle of his blood in his throat.
"Farewell." I whispered in his ear and closed his eyes, wipeing the knife clean on my jeans and sticking it back in my waist band.
"We gotta get out of here." Mariah spoke with a voice of pure terror and I stood quickly as panic rose inside of me.
"Your right, go now hurry!" We ran to my car and headed straight home.
All I hoped was that body was not to be found. If it was, that would mean the game was on.
