For about thirty minutes we skated around to the dull musc and watched several times as Angelina, Percy, and April all struggled to not slip and fall. Even though I knew that Hazel too was struggling not to fall on the inside, she skated very well on the outside. Other than the face she was making which consisted of immense concentration every ten minutes or so.

"Your making that face again." I smiled down at her, lost in my thoughts almost.

She looked up at me in confusion, "What face?"

"This face." I mocked her and she laughed.

"I just don't want to fall."

"But your a pro. You've only fallen twice in your whole life rollerblading."

"Nick, I'm still afraid that I might." Her eyes did indeed show some fear.

I smiled and let go of her hand, watching her wobble in surprise and steady herself. I skated away a bit and watched her eyes turn angry and sad.

"Where are you going?" Her voice yelled above the music a little.

"I'm showing you that you don't need to hold onto me to be safe. Look, your not fall-"

I broke off when I saw Angelina speed past Hazel and bump her arm. Hazel wobbled and tried to balance herself but fell forward and hit her knees before slapping her hands down in front of herself in shock. Her face had turned red and I laughed to myself a little, covering it as a cough. Memories flooded to me and I smiled. She looked up at me and her eyes turned hurt.

"Your laughing at me." She teared up.

I skated over to her and took her hand carefully, "No, I'm just laughing at memories."

Confusion, "Memories?"

"Yeah, I'm remembering the very first time we came to this roller rink. The same thing happened. Someone bumped you and you fell. The exact same look of shock came rolling over your face and I remember feeling so worried that you were hurt but you were only angry and embarrassed that you had fallen in front of me. I thought you had looked adorable though."

She blushed, "I remember I told you if you thought I was adorable then you should start dating me."

"A week later I did."

It fell silent and then it got awkward. We were talking about our relationship. Our relationship... The one that would never come back but here we were soaking ourselves in the happy memories instead of making them... Would we ever be the way we were? I dont think so...

Hazel cleared her throat and heaved herself up, "I'm sure hungry."

I forced a smile and put my hand on the small of her back and we skated over to the table where Percy, Angelina, and April all sat waiting on us.

"I thought you two would never get off that floor." Angelina snorted and Percy stepped on her foot hard, making pain cross her face.

Percy smiled, "What she means is... What took you guys so long?"

I laughed, "Hazel thought she hurt her knee. Shes fine though."

We sat and laughed and soon enough ordered a large cheese pizza and a basket of bread sticks, which came hot and buttery. Hazel sat across from me and I noticed that within the time we sat here talking, Hazel and I's feet had become intertwined just like they used to. I looked at her and I could feel my face soften. Her black curls hung around her face sweetly and her violet eyes were lit up and excited. She didn't have the Joey incident on her mind and in this moment, I bet she didn't even remember it happening. She was enjoying this time with us... with me hopefully. I wanted to reach across the table and touch her soft hands which always smelled of rose petals. I wanted to kiss her warm lips and taste that strawberry chapstick she always wore. I just wanted her to be mine... all mine again. Forever and always like it was supposed to be.

"Earth to Nicholas." April waved her hand in my face.

I looked away from Hazel and realized everyone was staring at me, "Huh?"

She smirked, "I was just asking about the time you and the guys snuck over the railroad tracks to the graveyard."

I laughed, "Oh my God. Yes. That night was so much fun. I remember that we had gotten into the graveyard with our video cameras and we were fucking spooked. Super livid. Everything was quiet and eery. We wandered around for a bit and then BOO!" Everyone jumped, "Myrtle Giggins was standing under a tree dressed in some black dress like a creep."

Percy gagged on his Pepsi, "Mrytle? Moaning Mrytle?"

"Moaning Mrytle?" Angelina asked in a disgusted tone.

We snickered and April looked up, "In our tenth grade year, Mrytle got really drunk and got laid. Everyone could hear her moaning over the music."

"That poor girl got bullied." Hazel muttered.

I felt a pang in my chest, "Yeah, she did. Bullied worse than anyone I know."

Angelina gave Hazel a look and reached across the table and ran her finger down my hand, "I wouldn't mind being called moaning Angie."

April reached across the table and slapped her hand, "Oops, a fly."

Angelina snagged her hand back and rubbed it, avoiding Percy's eyes which held so much anger  couldn't tell if he was furious of just pissed. I saw Hazel smile as she looked down and I nudged her foot with mine, smiling at her softly.
