When we got to the hospital Hazel was immediately taken in. Her face was already bruised and she was complaining about some pain and trouble breathing in her rib area. Of course, with the kicks that Hazel said Angelina laid on her, I wouldn't be surprised if a rib was broken. Her head also hurt. Now we sat in the emergency room while the doctor on duty pressed on Hazel's skull and ribs and asked if they hurt anywhere. Of course, with Hazel, she ended up getting pissed and remarking on the fact that the doctor was a dumbass and that, yes, her skull and side hurt.

"Its okay, Hazel. Your just fine." I held her hand tightly.

Nick smirked at her, "At least your nose isn't pushed sideways in unusual angles."

Hazel laughed, "Angelina can finally work for the freak carnival."

"Oh, she could have worked for that place a long damn time ago." I held back my laughter as the doctor came back in.

"Were going to go ahead and get some x-rays, okay?" The doctor smiled down at her, but Hazel kept a straight face.

The doctor left in silence and not that long later after Hazel was wheeled in for x-rays, Finnick showed up. I could have mistaken him for a model, but he wasn't that hard to recognize. He had the same curly locks that Hazel had, only shorter. His curly hair hung in his eyes a bit, but it only made his brown eyes pop. He looked like a overly protective muscular bear, but only five feet and eleven inches high.

"How did you know Hazel was here?" I raised an eyebrow.

Finnick snorted, "Shes my sister. She texted me."

"Or maybe I told my mom where we were and what happened and my mom texted you to let you know that she was here so you could come make sure everything was okay."

"Yeah," he smirked, "or that."

Nick stood and shook his hand, "Hey, man. Its been a while."

"Yeah, it has. What have you been up to?" Finnick seemed hesitant.

"Not much actually. Just helping my mom out and stuff around the house."

The doctor helped wheel Hazel back in and get her back into the bed. She took her blood pressure and temperature again and looked at the blood pressure numbers. It was as if she didn't fully believe Hazel was in pain or something.

"The x-rays show you have two cracked ribs and a fracture along your skull. The rib fractures will heal in a couple weeks. I'll prescribe you some pain meds for that. The skull fracture doesn't look like anything that should worry me. The only thing concerning is that you may have a concussion so I'm gonna have to keep you over night and have a nurse constantly checking on you." She touched Hazel's hands softly and I watched Hazel's face contort into dislike.

Nick smirked, "Sleep over in the hospital room."

"Sounds fun." Finnick smiled and caught Hazel's attention.

She sounded shocked, "Woah! Where did- d- did you come from." She struggled to calm her breath.

I laughed, "I texted my mom what happened and I'm assuming she messaged your brother and told him the news and that if he wanted that he could come down here and check on you."

Finnick shot me a smirk, "Oh, shut up."

"Why should I?" I stuck my tongue out at him.

Hazel laughed and engaged in a long conversation with Finnick and Nick.

I watched as they talked and I began to notice something. Hazel's eyes were almost brighter when she looked at Nick and Nick seemed so much happier since Hazel returned to town. I watched their eyes meet occasionally and they shared these secret memories. You could see the bond that tied them together. The way that Nick looked at Hazel was the way that every girl in the world wanted to be looked at. I sat here watching them and realized that they had something that I longed for. True love. I knew who I wanted to be with and I know that they want to be with me too. There was just one person standing in our way and it was the biggest slut in North Brook. He knows it too.

I went back to earlier tonight when Percy and I sat down and started talking.

"You remember Joey Bradshaw's party right?" Percy had looked at me with sad eyes.

I nodded, "Yeah. It was a horrible night."

He raised an eyebrow, "Horrible? I wouldn't call it that."

"Why is that?" I was so confused. He was laughing at something, but I couldn't quite figure out what.

His eyes looked at me warmly, "Do you remember the man that led you into the bedroom?"

I felt my cheeks turn bright red, "Oh, uh, yeah."

"That was me."

I sat in shock and then finally I smirked and hugged him tightly. I felt bad that I didn't recognize him at first but then I realized something. I lost my virginity to Percy. I lose my virignity to Percy Lauper. The guy that I secretly loved. He knew who I was that night though. He knew exactly who I was.

I stood up and excused myself from the room and dialed in Percy's number quickly. It rang and rang and finally he answered in a frustrating tone.

"Hello?" I could hear Angelina whining in the background.

I gulped, "Hey."

His voice softened, "Oh, hey, April. Is something wrong?"

I gulped and felt the bile rise up in my throat. I felt nervous and scared. His voice was confused as he called my name over the line. I couldn't answer yet but gave nervous squeaks. His voice started calming me down and finally something else rose inside of me. Bravery. I felt the my heart leap and I took a deep breath.

"Percy, I have something I have been needing to tell you for a while now."

He breathed in relief, "Okay, tell me."

"I love you."
