After being woken up and spending the day constantly cleaning for my mother and reminding her over twenty billion times that I was okay, we were finally free to do whatever we wanted. In which we took the freedom upon ourselves to watch television until the sunset showed itself behind my living room curtains.

"Roller skating?" I smiled.

Hazel looked up from the game on her phone, "Yes. Nick hasn-"

Her phone beeped and she checked the message quickly, looking back up.

"He wants us there at six." She smiled

I jumped up, "That's in thirty minutes!"

Hazel and I rushed to the bedroom and started getting dressed. Since I knew I was going to fall at least a couple of times I pulled on skinny jeans instead of shorts, which Hazel was wearing. I threw on a T-shirt that sported "Let's Get Wasted!" and tied the laces to my Converse.

"Rushing is never good! What do I do with my hair?" I looked at Hazel with worry.

She laughed, "Well, personally, I believe you look really good with your hair up and your bangs twisted to the side."

I did what she said and in a matter of minutes we were out the door and in my car. We would have peeled out, but my mom stopped us to tell us to be safe and continued to watch us leave from the front porch. The drive to the roller skating rink was a good fifteen minutes away so I had plenty of time to talk to Hazel.

"What happened with you and Nick at the party?" I glanced at her and then back to the road quickly.

She looked up from her text messages in shock for a second, "What?"

"You know, you and Nick. Joey's party."

Recognition fluttered in her eyes, "Oh. We, uh, talked."

"Talked with your genitals or with your mouths?" I giggled.

Her eyes widened and she laughed, "Oh my God, April!"

I laughed along with her, "Come one, spill your guts."

She inhaled deeply, "Okay, okay. So, we drank a lot. I don't remember much, but I remember enough to know we had sex."

"So does this mean your...?"

"No." She sighed sadly.

I frowned, "Why not just make it official? Your graduated from highschool. You could move back."

"Just because I graduated early doesn't mean anything... My mom thinks I need to stay in Hampton with her until-"

"Your mom-"

"Cancontrol me because I'm still seventeen."

"Your turning eighteen in one week." I looked at her with dissapointment.

She looked frustrated, "I just... I don't know."

That was the end of that I guess. We pulled into the parking lot and Nick was standing there waiting by his car. The look in Hazel's eyes were soft and I saw her  cheeks turn a soft pink.

"Better get out before he comes and collects us." I smiled and she laughed.

Tonight was going to be a good night.
