I watched Hazel and her brother talk with big smiles. It had been a while since they had actually had a conversation. A real one. Last time they were face to face they had a big blow out fight because Finnick was being too overprotective about me. I didn't blame him. I mean, he only walked in on us having sex... on my couch... at me house.
"Don't you think?" Hazel looked up at me with happy eyes.
I looked at her confused, "Huh?"
She pouted, "You weren't paying attention?"
"Sorry, I was thinking." I smirked, touching her hand.
Finnick scoffed, "I never knew you to be that type, Nicholas."
"Neither you, Finnigan." I held back a laugh.
"I hate that name and when people call me it."
"Thats only because the name represents the embarrassment of ninth grade year for you and the pain that the senior inflicted on your poor adolescent mind." Hazel spoke in a big voice.
Finnick flicked her arm, "Oh hush, Mouse."
"I won't be short forever! Just watch!"
"Watch what? You grow half an inch?"
I smiled, "Your done growing, Haze."
She glared up at me, "Don't you even start."
I pulled my hand away as if she had burnt me jokingly, "That look!"
April went out of the room and I watched in confusion. She had seemed a little upset in a way, mad maybe? I went to the edge of the door and heard her talking.
She sounded nevous, "Hey."
There was a pause and she continued, "Percy, I have something I have been needing to tell you for a while now... I love you."
My eyes widened and I heard her suck in her breath. Finally she exhaled and started crying. I went to walk out of the door and then heard her exclaim happily.
"You do? You really do?" She sounded happy.
Percy had obviously confessed to her that he loved her back. They had finally confessed to each other their feelings of affection and I felt my heart tug a little bit. They had always had a small thing but each time they got even a little bit near each other Angelina had a cow an wanted Percy all to herself. Even though it was a arranged relationship, it was a stupid one because neither one loved each other. Angelina loved every other guy and Percy loved April.
"Uh..." I heard Hazel cough behind me.
I turned around and saw Finnick and Hazel both staring at me. Hazel's eyes were suspicious and even judgemental. I wanted to burst out into a happy exclamation but I didn't want April to hear me.
"Percy and April confessed their undying love to each other." I said in a calm voice.
I felt something smack into my back from the doorway and heard April speak, "Your dead to me."
I coughed to cover my laughing, "What I do?"
Hazel covered her mouth and started squealing, "Oh my God! No way! Spill the deets! Spill them!"
Finnick gave me that 'Dude, what have you done?' look and I burst into laughter, soon sitting down as I tried to control it. April gushed on about how Percy admitted to loving her and then proceeded to tell her that he didn't want to be with Angelina anymore and wanted her to go and see them. Hazel nearly fell from the bed trying to control herself and urged her to go, soon hugging her goodbye.
"Think that will last?" Finnick snorted.
Hazel shot him a look, "They love each other."
"You two loved each other." Finnick raised an eyebrow.
I wanted to strangle him. He had the ner-
"We still do. In fact, didn't you know? We're back together." Her eyes were determined and she smiled.
Finnick looked taken aback, "What."
"You heard me."
I smiled as Hazel looked at me. Was she serious? She had to just be getting back at her brother. I didn't know how to feel about this but then she pulled me to her and kissed me with a passion I hadn't felt in a long time. My head began to spin and joy pulsed through my veins. She wasn't kidding.
"I love you." My tone was happier, more content.
She smiled and stroked my cheek, "I love you too."
