Chapter 9.- "Benny's Bar"...

"Finn ... Finn, son, wake up!". Erick's voice brought Finn out of his sleep, he decided to sleep a couple of hours since he had not slept at all that night, he did not complain ... kissing Millie was the best reason for insomnia that he has ever known, although Finn was not a morning person.

"Mmhh"... A slight sound came from Finn's mouth.

"I'm tired, Dad". He said as he covered himself with the quilts again, it was almost noon so the sun came through the window.

"I think I know how to make you wake up...". Erick said as he took out his cell phone and played an audio, immediately the voice of a man unknown to Finn filled the room.

"Erick I consulted with the CEO'S, they consider that the idea you provided is a good one, for some time we have looked for some activity that certifies us as a socially responsible company and that scholarship program is an excellent option, the pilot program can start with those 4 guys you mentioned, we would start with an 80% scholarship for their university studies, right now we can review the details and contact the parents of the students".

Finn was still in bed, but had slowly removed the blanket from his head and was listening carefully to every word, he stood up with his eyes wide with surprise.

What happened is that a couple of hours ago, Finn had asked his father for help in getting his law firm to offer a scholarship for college to Sadie., Caleb, Gaten and Noah, He thought that if he helped improve their futures in a certain place, Millie could be calmer, knowing that even if they were in another school now, their futures were assured.

"How? ... When?... That really was fast!". Finn said surprised, unable to stop a smile from appearing on his lips.

"Well ... it was a busy morning" . Erick said with a shrug. "I was lucky that the company has been looking for a project like this ... you know that every company needs to do some social responsibility and the proposal practically fell from the sky ... I would appreciate it if you could provide me with the phones of your friends, I have to contact them".

"Sure!". Finn said as he made some movements on his cell phone. "It's done".

They both shared a shy smile, after all things were still tense between them, when the silence came, Erick thought it best to leave, he turned to Finn before crossing the door.

"Mmm Son ... about the other thing you asked me ... I seriously will try, you're right, I must do the right thing ... although I don't know how you got involved in all this, I understand that you're upset with me, I also think that It would help me a lot to know the whole truth, I think it would be easier for me to help you if... "

"I can't tell you ... not yet". Finn ran his hands through his hair, looking a bit desperate to find the right words.

"I have a plan to get out of this problem but I can't do it... now, not until your part of the job is done ... without that I asked you, I can't make any move". Finn sighed before staring at his dad.

Erick looked at Finn with deep concern on his face.

I just hope you stay safe and soon you can tell me everything and regain your trust in me...I know that you have not wanted to hear me  but it is important that you know that my intention was never to harm anyone!, I did not realize that I was being part of something bad and for God's sake! if I had noticed something cloudy in that moment I...just, I hope you believe me and although I still have no idea how you got involved in this, I will give you the necessary evidence to end everything... I promise I will do whatever it takes to get what you need, I will do whatever it takes to get you to trust me again... I love you son".
