toni topaz is 24 years old and living in the magic palace motel in kissimmee florida. her daughter is the most important person in her life right now and she would do anything for her. she parents differently then most moms considering she had her daughter so young and they are more like sisters. toni is a badass and often finds her daughter acting like one too. she lets her daughter do whatever she wants unsupervised with the rest of the kids in the community. she knows the kids are just having fun and it also gives her time to find ways to make money and hopefully pay rent by the end of each week.

sophie is 6 years old and toni's daughter. she is a lovable little girl who enjoys getting herself into trouble with her friends. to her it's just fun games and she makes the most of what she has. technically she doesn't know any different though because she's lived this way her entire life. she is very strong willed and adventurous and never backs down to anyone. she's smart beyond her years and very precocious.

moonee is a bright, quick-witted kid with a sense of fun and humor. she is a natural leader and often the one who stirs the pot of trouble. she has the vocabulary of her mother (cursing) which can sometimes rub off on sophie and the other kids. she is the one with the persuasive power, the imagination, and the charisma. she is also 6 years old and lives a few doors down from toni and sophie in the magic castle motel.
