Uzukaze Naruto quietly attempted to braid a section of Sakura's hair, faring quite well for his first time doing something like this. But, that was probably only because of how smooth the movements of his fingers and hands were from years of drawing seals. While most of his attention was focused on his hands, Naruto still was aware of what was happening around him, no shinobi worth their salt ever ignored their surroundings.
"Well," Kenko started, quieting down the conversations the other genin were having amongst each other, "that was a wonderful spar, I'm very proud of the progress you three have made." Hyūga ducked her head, embarrassed, while Yamanaka smirked confidently. "After the other two spars, myself and, presumably, your respective sensei, will talk about your performances more in-depth. Now, who's going next?"
Naruto didn't even have to look at Inuzuka to know he was bouncing on his toes, looking very much ready to volunteer himself. Before he could, however, Sasuke did. "I will." Naruto glanced up at him with a quirked eyebrow, he hands continuing to braid Sakura's hair. Sasuke just gestured toward Sakura, making it click for Naruto as he was Sakura's pillow and it'd be unnecessary to disturb her twice.
He nodded at Sasuke and looked back to Sakura's hair, the braid nearly done. "Aburame-kun, why don't you go up as well?" Kenko asked, Inuzuka groaning impatiently by remaining silent otherwise. Out of the corner of his eye, Naruto watched as Aburame bobbed his head in agreement, not about to decline as he already knew that Kenko did things for a reason. Aburame had his forehead protector around his forehead.
"I guess I volunteer," Akimichi said, stuffing a now empty bag of chips into one of his pockets. His forehead protector was also around his forehead, except it was styled to allow two tufts of hair to stick out on either side. Naruto couldn't decide if it was a good thing or not that he was going to be the one facing against Nara.
On one hand, Sasuke wouldn't need to deal with the barriers and Naruto would be able to challenge Nara's tactical skills, but on the other, Sasuke wouldn't gain experience with barriers and lead him to be unprepared if faced with an opponent who was proficient in kekkai ninjutsu; the same goes for Sakura. But, he supposed it didn't matter, since they could always fight against an ANBU of his who was proficient.
"Excellent, please enter the ring. The deactivation of the gravity seals applies to the three of you as well," Kenko said, shifting against the trunk of the oak as the three made their way into the ring, Naruto finishing the braid just in time to reach his hand up and fist-bump Sasuke as he passed by, a habit he picked up from Killer B.
Akimichi, Aburame, and Sasuke stood in a triangle-like formation, glancing wearing at each other, though it was difficult to tell with Aburame due to his glasses. Sasuke slips into the Moeru Tora, centring his balance completely as he held up his arms and spread his feet apart, shoulders rising slightly as he lowered his head.
"Ready," Aburame twitched, hands moving out his pockets as he held his arms out, "set," Akimichi fixed his stance, preparing, "go!" Kenko finally yelled. A thick swarm of kikaichū surrounded Aburame's hands for a moment before he attacked Akimichi and Sasuke, aiming to end this fight quickly since Aburame typically didn't have that high of stamina.
Akimichi promptly released his gravity seal to avoid the swam, using a swift Katon: Hōsenka to burn away the bugs. Sasuke, on the other hand, immediately used Katon: Gōkakyū to destroy the kikaichū and force Aburame to jump away to avoid the giant fireball. Akimichi went to engage in a taijutsu battle with Aburame while Sasuke stayed back, swiftly moving through some hand-signs and mumbling, "Raikyū¹⁵⁷."
Six balls of yellow lightning promptly appeared around Sasuke, sparking dangerously. He sent three of them barreling at Akimichi and Abumare, forcing the two to disengage to avoid being struck. Aburame sent a swarm of kikaichū at Sasuke, which he dodged easily, killing half of them with a ball of lightning as he made a move to attack Aburame only to be forced to back away into the remaining swarm by small fireballs courtesy of Akimichi.
