Chapter Nineteen[XIX]: Red Alliance - II

   Uzukaze Naruto teleported to the outskirts of Kiri, crouching silently in the thick trunk of a decaying tree. The air was cool and Naruto could see his breath in front of him, the vapour swirling around for a moment before disappearing. He sent a pulse of chakra into Yagura's tattoo, notifying the Kage of his arrival.

   Technically, Yagura was stronger than him, but this was mainly due to the fact that he could actually control his connection with Isobu. Kurama, however, absolutely refused to even attempt to co-operate with Naruto unless the situation was dire, meaning that they would have to be about to die.

   Still, Naruto didn't mind, Kurama was there to heal his wounds when he needed the chakra beast, even if Kurama claimed he was only doing it because he himself didn't want to die. Similar to when Kurama gave him the summoning scroll and said he was only doing it since he "didn't want a weak host". It was how he learned so much. He had a little hope that Kurama actually cared for him, even if the fox would never admit it.

   After a minute or so, Naruto received a pulse right back from Yagura. He stood from his crouch and proceeded to teleport to Yagura's office, where he presumed Utakata would be as well. It seemed he was right, as Yagura was sitting behind his desk, which was somewhat comedic considering he looked younger than Naruto, while Utakata was blowing bubbles from his pipe, standing to the left of Yagura.

   Yagura had short, messy, grey hair, which fell over the right side of his face and spiked up on the left. He also had pink, pupilless eyes and what seemed to be a stitch-like scar running from under his left eye, all the way down his cheek. He wore a grey, sleeveless shirt with the Kiri forehead protector attached to the front, as well as short-sleeved mesh armour, which he wore under a green poncho. He also wore a turquoise sash around his waist, paired with a matching green apron over his pants and a pair of brown boots. Along with it, he would carry a club with unevenly sized hooks, which bared a green flower on the larger end.

   Utakata, on the other hand, was in simpler attire. He wore a full-body grey suit along with a variant of the village's flak jacket which had very low shoulder guards as well as a zipper and a pouch on the upper right chest. He also wore a Kiri forehead protector on his forehead, fingerless gloves, as well as bandages on his forearms.

   Naruto smiled at them. "Kon'nichiwa, Bubble-san, Shorty-san."

   There was a small ( pun intended ) twitch from Yagura. "Hello to you as well, Kit-san."

   Utakata gave a nod, ignoring the nickname altogether. "Good morning, Naruto-san."

   He looked out of the window, noting the sun's slowly rising position. "Is there anything either of you needs to do before we go?"

   Yagura nodded while Utakata didn't give a response, simply taking another puff of his bubble pipe. "There are still some groups hidden around my village that believe that Kekkei Genkai users are to be murdered," he said that sourly, clearly displeased. Naruto couldn't blame him, he would absolutely hate to be placed under a genjutsu and controlled without his consent.

   "A large group of ten, maybe more, was last spotted in the Hokubu Chiku by Squad Alpha, near the abandoned weapons market," Utakata said, gesturing in that direction. "They reported that, from the people they could see, five are civilians, four chūnin level, and one jōnin level, though it is suspected that there are more."

   Naruto nodded, swiftly using his second most-used Henge that he named Omara Zashi. This transformation was much more discreet than his Kenko one, simple black hair with dark brown eyes, he had on a black jumpsuit that had pants made out of mesh armour on top of it, and a non-descript plain black mask that had a few scratches on it. The only other thing he had was a single sheath for a tsurugi, his favourite double-edged sword which was made specifically to be enhanced by wind-based chakra.
